Chapter 104

After stashing the drugs, Scarlett bolted out of the room. To make it look less suspicious, she headed to the second-floor bathroom to wash her hands.

Just then, Isabella showed up at the same bathroom.

Scarlett caught sight of Isabella in the mirror. After washing her hands, she sneered, "Well, well, look who's in the second-floor bathroom just like me. I thought you would slum it in the first-floor bathroom."

Isabella gave a faint smile, meeting Scarlett's eyes in the mirror. "I'm not here for the bathroom. I'm here for you."

Scarlett turned to face her. "What do you want? We've got nothing to talk about."

Isabella's smile vanished. "I can tell you're not here to apologize."

Scarlett scoffed, crossing her arms. "You're right, so what? You got lucky this time, you bitch! I heard two kangaroos saved you. Maybe I'll send you some kangaroo meat to try."

Seeing Scarlett's spiteful grin, Isabella slapped her hard.

"If you harm any of those animals, you'll regret it," Isabella said, her expression icy, just like Michael's when he was mad.

Scarlett felt a moment of confusion, seeing a flash of Michael in Isabella. It only made her angrier.

"You bitch, how dare you hit me?" Scarlett tried to strike back, but Isabella kicked her in the stomach, knocking her down.

Isabella bent over slightly, her gaze cold. "I might not be a survival expert, but when it comes to fighting, I ain't losing to nobody!"

Scarlett felt a sharp pain in her stomach; Isabella's kick was strong. She lay on the ground, gasping for air.

Isabella stood up, walked to the sink, and turned on the faucet. The sound of running water drowned out Scarlett's labored breathing.

"Guess what Michael told me yesterday? He said he doesn't like you at all. He only sees you as a friend. He hopes you'll get the hint, and if you mess with his marriage again, he'll make you regret it." Isabella finished washing her hands and looked at Scarlett, a mocking smile on her lips, as if laughing at Scarlett's ignorance.

If John or Bianca saw Isabella now, they'd be shocked. The old Isabella would never say such things or show such expressions.

Love had changed her. Isabella felt true love for Michael, which made her unwilling to let go. Love made her selfish, and for love, Isabella began to adopt Michael's indifference and cruelty towards his enemies.

After Isabella left, Scarlett waited for the pain to subside. She stood up, glaring in the direction Isabella had gone.

"You bitch, just wait. Tomorrow, I won't let you off! I'll make you pay a hundred times over!" Scarlett clenched her fists, adjusted her expression, and headed downstairs.

Back in the day, Scarlett would've flaunted the slap marks and put on a sad face to get Kenna's or Michael's sympathy. But now, she had a better plan and decided to bide her time.

As Scarlett came downstairs, Isabella was still chatting with Lyanna.

Isabella looked so friendly and kind while chatting. It was hard to believe she had just slapped Scarlett and kicked her in the bathroom.

"Mom, I'm feeling a bit tired. Let's go home and rest," Scarlett said to Lyanna.

Lyanna nodded but then frowned. "Scarlett, why is your face red?"

Scarlett gave a bitter smile. "I saw a little bug on my face in the bathroom. It felt itchy, so I tried to swat it away. I missed the bug but ended up slapping myself."

Lyanna believed Scarlett because she thought Scarlett wouldn't lie to her. Besides, Scarlett's personality was such that she never took things lying down. If someone had hit her, she would have fought back hard.

"Well, in that case, let's go!" Lyanna said goodbye to everyone, then took Scarlett's hand and left the villa.

"Isabella, Scarlett has shown sincerity. How about giving her a break?" Kenna smiled at Isabella.

Isabella nodded; she was willing to show Kenna some respect. As long as Scarlett didn't cause trouble for her, she wouldn't go looking for trouble with Scarlett.

"Alright, Dad. Since I was a kid, my grandpa always taught me that we should never hurt others unless they hurt us first. But if they keep hurting us, we must retaliate doubly to make them realize who's boss!" Isabella said with a smile.

Isabella was making her stance clear to Kenna. She could forgive this time, but if Scarlett dared to mess with her again, she wouldn't tolerate it.

Kenna got Isabella's point, and he didn't think there was anything wrong with it. Isabella's approach matched his own style.

"I feel like your grandpa and I have some similarities. I wonder if I'll ever get to meet him," Kenna asked with a smile.

Isabella's expression turned a bit sad. "I'm sorry, Dad, my grandpa passed away many years ago."

"Oh, that's really unfortunate," Kenna said with regret.

"It's okay, Dad. I want to go back to my room and rest for a while. It's been a tiring day," Isabella said, getting up and heading upstairs.

Kenna signaled to Michael.

Michael shrugged and followed Isabella.

"I wonder when I'll get to hold a grandchild. Is Michael even capable?" Kenna said with a tone of frustration.

Michael, who had just reached the second floor, overheard Kenna's voice, and his expression instantly darkened.

'Damn it, am I really his son? Why does he always doubt me?' Michael thought, feeling deeply frustrated. He decided to prove himself.

But when Michael walked into the bedroom, he found Isabella fiddling with the alarm clock, looking serious.
