Chapter 115

After wrapping up his presentation at the tech expo, Michael headed back to the villa.

Lucas, poor guy, had gotten a serious beatdown. Why? Well, during the scuffle, he took off his helmet and started mouthing off to a woman. The formidable 280-pound woman then pinned him down and slapped him silly.

Lucas took off his helmet for a simple reason: the woman had kissed him! Even though it was just the helmet she kissed, Lucas was seriously freaked out.

When Michael got back to the villa, Isabella was deep into designing a sports car.

"Thinking about getting a sports car?" Michael asked, curious, as he walked over. He glanced at the design and frowned a bit, thinking it didn't quite fit a woman's style.

Without looking up, Isabella kept sketching. "Lucas asked me to design a car for him. I'm using stuff young people like: shooting stars and wild horses. A meteor in the sky, a galloping horse on the ground, surrounded by flames-this sense of freedom should appeal to him."

Seeing Isabella so into designing a car for Lucas made Michael feel a bit jealous.

Michael plopped down next to Isabella, put his arm around her shoulder, and said playfully, "I want one like this too."

Isabella rolled her eyes. "Our car is just a regular sedan; it doesn't need such a design."

"I can buy a sports car, or I can save the design on my computer and get it when I have enough money," Michael said, holding Isabella's arm and rubbing his forehead against it.

Isabella had never seen the usually cool Michael act so childishly. She found it funny but didn't show it. "I went to the tech expo today and met the mysterious Mr. Williams. Are you mad?"

Michael paused, remembering Benjamin's advice.

'Beg her for forgiveness, do whatever it takes.' Michael kept telling himself.

Finally, Michael made up his mind. He squatted down, hugged Isabella's legs, and rubbed his face against them.

Isabella was startled. "What are you doing? Get up!"

"I'm sorry. I was wrong. I won't get up unless you forgive me!" Michael clung tightly to Isabella's legs, not giving her a chance to push him away.

"Get up! There are servants around; this is so embarrassing." Isabella's face turned red. They were in the living room, and the servants were cleaning nearby.

Michael waved his hand, and the servants all scattered, leaving him and Isabella alone in the living room.

"Now no one will disturb us. Isabella, I know I was wrong. I shouldn't be jealous of Mr. Williams, whom you've never even met. I should have been more understanding. Everyone has idols, even if that idol is of the opposite sex!" Michael looked up at Isabella with a pitiful expression.

Isabella's face turned bright red. She found Michael's behavior hilarious but tried hard to keep a stern look, though she couldn't help but smile a bit.

"Alright, I forgive you. Now get up," Isabella said, patting Michael's hair. He looked like a pouting kitten.

But Michael still didn't budge. "I won't get up unless you agree to design a sports car for me too."

"Okay, I'll design one for you. Just get up," Isabella said, covering her face. She felt Michael's behavior was incredibly embarrassing, but she also felt a hint of sweetness inside.

Michael finally smiled happily. Just as he was about to stand up, they heard the sound of a camera shutter.

Michael and Isabella turned around to see Kenna holding a phone, snapping photos of them.

"Isabella, you're amazing! This is the first time I've seen Michael with such an expression! Hahaha," Kenna said excitedly.

"Dad, delete those photos! You'll ruin my image!" Michael chased after Kenna, while Isabella, blushing, ran upstairs.

Michael didn't catch Kenna, who had already locked himself in his room.

Kenna stood before Audrey's photo, skillfully lighting a candle.

"Audrey, Michael has really changed a lot! He's completely devoted to Isabella, and I believe their love will soon bring a new life into the world," Kenna said happily to Audrey's photo.

Meanwhile, Lucas returned home and ran into Scarlett coming down the stairs.

Scarlett frowned as she saw the bruises on Lucas's face. "Who did this to you?"

"It was a bunch of strangers," Lucas said, waving his hand dismissively as he headed to his room. He didn't want to admit he'd been beaten up by a woman.

"Where were your bodyguards? How on earth did you get beaten up by strangers? What happened? Weren't you at the tech exhibition today?" Scarlett demanded, glaring at Lucas.

Lucas, feeling helpless, recounted how he had gone to find Isabella and how they ended up going to the tech exhibition together.

Scarlett was furious. "You went to find Isabella! Don't you know she's our enemy? She hurt me deeply! I'm your sister!"

Lucas felt exasperated. He had expected this reaction from Scarlett.

"Scarlett, you need to face reality! If you can't have Michael, let him go. "Look at the stuff you've been up to lately-none of it's worth praising. I think you should read some books on the philosophy of love; maybe they'll give you some answers," Lucas said before heading back to his room.

Scarlett, in a fit of rage, grabbed a cushion from the sofa and threw it at Lucas, but it bounced off the closed door.

Scarlett's screams echoed through the living room.

The next day, Isabella and Michael were preparing to leave the country and return home. They had work to do in Avalonia.

Upon learning the news of Isabella's departure, Lucas brought a gift to see them off.

Isabella gave Lucas the car design she had created, which he liked very much.

"This is fantastic! I'll surely be the talk of the town among my friends!" Lucas said happily, handing Isabella a rectangular box.

"This is from Scarlett. I don't know what's inside. She asked me to apologize on her behalf," Lucas said.
