Chapter 75

Benjamin stumbled out of the room, wiping sweat off his forehead.

"How thirsty is she for men? My back's killing me," he gasped, half-complaining.

Just then, the door across the hall swung open, and Michael stepped out.

Unlike Benjamin, Michael looked composed, no sweat in sight, but his shirt was unbuttoned at the top, revealing a chest covered in hickeys.

Michael raised an eyebrow at Benjamin. "What were you doing in Amelia's room? Did you two..."

Before he could finish, Benjamin cut him off, "Don't get the wrong idea; nothing happened."

Michael smirked, eyeing Benjamin's shaky legs and the hickeys all over him. "Oh really? These marks say otherwise. Should I call the cops for you?"

Michael pretended to pull out his phone, and Benjamin quickly stopped him.

"Wait, Michael, okay, fine, I did sleep with Amelia," Benjamin whispered.

Michael grinned, throwing an arm around Benjamin's shoulder. "Since you and Amelia got close, treat her right. Don't mess things up. If Isabella ends up hating me because of you, you'll regret it."

Michael's smile was friendly, but his eyes had a warning.

Benjamin gulped and nodded earnestly. "I'll do my best to make her happy!"

Satisfied, Michael let him go.

"By the way, I'm thinking of giving Isabella a diamond ring soon. Should I plan something special?" Michael asked, rubbing his chin.

Benjamin nodded. "Absolutely. Every girl loves a romantic proposal, even if you're already married. It still needs to be special."

"What kind of ceremony should I have?" Michael asked.

After a moment's thought, Benjamin suggested, "How about taking a yacht out to sea and setting off a big fireworks show for Isabella? Picture it: a white moon, romantic fireworks, the sound of the waves. It's like a movie scene, right?" His eyes sparkled with excitement.

Michael nodded. "That sounds perfect."

"Alright, I gotta head to the hospital now. Need to check on Bianca's illness. If she's faking it, I'll expose her. Consider it a wedding gift for you and Isabella," Benjamin said with a shrug, heading towards the mansion's gate.

Michael didn't pay him much mind, already pulling out his phone to arrange the fireworks and yacht.

Isabella had no clue about Michael's surprise. When she woke up, Amelia was just getting up too.

Isabella noticed something was off with Amelia. "Amelia, what's wrong? You don't seem happy," she asked, concerned.

Amelia looked a bit uneasy. She forced a smile and said, "I just drank too much last night. Feeling a bit off. I need to go see my mom."

With that, Amelia grabbed her handbag and quickly left the mansion.

"Why is Amelia acting so weird?" Isabella muttered, scratching her head. She had a feeling Amelia was hiding something.

As Amelia left the mansion and got into her car, she felt a wave of anxiety. 'What the hell did I do today?'

She thought about her drunken hookup with Benjamin. She didn't love him; they'd only met a few times. But being drunk and lonely had led to some wild decisions.

Amelia needed to find a place to clear her head.

Back at the mansion, Isabella stayed put. Michael cooked dinner for her, and they had a sweet night together.

Since not many people knew about Michael's mansion, Bianca, with John's help, couldn't find anything. She only knew Isabella hadn't been home all day.

But the next day, Isabella had to report to her new job, giving Bianca an opening.

Bianca tipped off Pearl about Isabella's whereabouts.

After hanging up, Bianca's eyes gleamed with resentment. "If Pearl's plan works, Mason will never let Isabella marry John again!"

Isabella arrived at her new company for orientation, which turned out to be Michael's company. Since her office wasn't ready yet, she had the next two days off. After filling out some paperwork, she left.

Driving home, Isabella noticed a car tailing her. At first, she thought it was just a coincidence. But after a few turns, the car was still there, making her uneasy.

She forced herself to stay calm. "I can't panic now. I need to get to a busy area; it'll be safer."

But as she turned a corner, another car came out of nowhere and rammed into her, forcing her to stop. Isabella quickly locked her doors and windows, dialing 911.

Four masked men got out of the cars and approached her with a window breaker. Isabella gave her location to the emergency operator, but the next moment, her window shattered. The men tried to grab her phone.

She quickly pressed the emergency button on her phone before it was snatched and smashed.

The men dragged her out of the car, trying to pull her into theirs.

Thinking fast, Isabella took off her smartwatch and hid it in her hand. Pretending to resist, she lunged at one of the men, slipping the watch into his shirt pocket.

Meanwhile, Michael was in his office when his phone buzzed. Seeing the message, he bolted out of the office.
