Chapter 387

Bianca's face went rigid when she heard Estella needed a billion dollars. Sure, John could come up with the cash, but was it really worth that much?

Bianca felt a twinge of guilt for spending so much just to go after Isabella.

"Is a billion dollars really enough?" John asked, sounding doubtful.

Estella nodded. "A hundred million is our lowball estimate. The real cost could be higher. Since I married your uncle, people think I'm just lucky. I want to prove myself with results. He'd happily fund this, but I want to surprise him with a box office hit."

John nodded slightly, tapping his fingers on the table.

Bianca looked at John, waiting for his take.

Finally, John turned to Bianca and smiled. "Estella, we can give you a billion dollars. But we want to invest in the movie."

Estella's face lit up, then quickly turned worried. "We can't mix investment with endorsement deals," she said. "If you invest, I won't see a dime from either the film profits or the endorsement fees. I'd be left with nothing."

"That's a billion dollars. Do you think it's that easy to make?" John scoffed.

Estella gritted her teeth, looking annoyed.

Bianca quickly stepped in, holding John's hand and smiling, "Honey, don't talk to Estella like that. She's family! But we can still discuss this."

Bianca whispered to John, "Sweetie, don't get too worked up. Let's have Estella send over the script first. If it's worth it, we might consider investing more on top of the endorsement fee."

John glanced at Estella, who looked pretty upset, but he nodded at Bianca's suggestion.

Bianca turned to Estella and said, "Estella, we'd like to see the script first."

Estella nodded and pulled the script from her bag, anticipating this might come up.

When Bianca saw the script, a spark lit up in her eyes. She knew Estella's concern about offending Mason was just a ploy to get John to spend more.

Bianca and John started reading the script. After about half an hour, John's brows furrowed deeply.

"The sun is dying, so they're putting an engine on Earth to escape? Who wrote this nonsense? Is there any investment value in this kind of script?" John didn't hold back his criticism.

John glanced at Estella, clearly looking down on her.

Estella's face grew more unpleasant, and John didn't hide his disdain.

'Is this really the heir of a big family? No class at all. Damn it, looks like I have to agree to John's investment to complete Mr. Williams' task,' Estella thought, sighing inwardly.

Estella truly believed in the script, but John just didn't get it because he wasn't in the film industry. If John invested in the film, as Estella mentioned, she wouldn't see a penny.

"Seems like Mr. Williams thinks I'm not worth investing in. In that case, I'll be on my way," Estella said coldly, putting the script back in her bag and getting ready to leave.

Having been in the entertainment industry for years, Estella was good at reading people. She knew John would stop her before she reached the door.

Sure enough, before John could say anything, Bianca quickly intervened. "Estella, John is just a bit impatient. He didn't mean anything against you." Bianca pulled Estella back to her seat.

Bianca sat back next to John, holding his hand and whispering, "Honey, don't forget you're helping me find an endorser. How am I supposed to face your uncle in the future?"

John took a deep breath, trying to calm down.

"I'm sorry, Estella. I was too impatient earlier," John apologized.

Estella nodded slightly in response.

Bianca smiled at Estella. "Estella, we don't think this movie has any investment value. Let's just talk about the endorsement fee directly."

Estella sighed inwardly. If they only discussed the endorsement fee, she wasn't sure how much John would offer, but it definitely couldn't be less than 80 million dollars.

'If I'm short 20 million dollars, will Mr. Williams blame me for not completing the task?' Estella felt a bit uneasy.

But then John spoke up, "I'll give you an endorsement fee of one billion dollars for a year. We'll handle the promotional work."

John was really willing to spend a billion dollars on the endorsement fee for Bianca.

Estella was both excited and surprised. "Are you really willing to spend a billion dollars?"

John nodded calmly. "This amount is not a big deal for me. As long as my girlfriend is happy."

After saying that, John smiled at Bianca and gently touched her abdomen.

Bianca was very touched.

Estella was also moved, mainly because of the money. She had completed Michael's task.

"Let's have a toast to our collaboration," Estella said, raising her glass.

John raised his glass, and Bianca picked up a glass of juice, as she was pregnant.

"Cheers to our collaboration," Bianca said excitedly.

After dinner, Estella called her driver to pick her up, and then she called Michael.

"Sir, I have completed the task. John did spend a billion dollars for my endorsement," Estella said with a hint of pride in her voice.
