Chapter 366

Scarlett smirked at the voice on the other end. "Ryan, you don't stand a chance. You're not even worth a dog's time."

Ryan Williams sighed over the phone, "Only someone like you would compare my brother to a dog."

Scarlett was taken aback and snapped back, "Don't twist my words, you know I didn't mean it like that."

"Yeah, I get it, but even a dog wouldn't want you," Ryan mocked a few more times before hanging up.

Scarlett was so mad she almost threw her phone.

"Ryan, you can't even compare to your brother," Scarlett muttered angrily. She poured herself a drink to celebrate her plan and blow off some steam, then slammed the door on her way out.

Isabella walked into the bedroom. Michael was no longer in the bathroom. She didn't know or care where he had gone.

Isabella sat on the edge of the bed, pulled out her phone, and opened a hidden album to find the photo she had saved.

In the photo, Michael was holding hands with a woman, smiling brightly. Although the woman's face was pixelated, her figure and demeanor suggested she was a beauty.

Just then, there was a knock on the door. Isabella quickly put away the photo.

"Who is it, Amelia?" Isabella opened the door to find Amelia and invited her in.

Amelia glanced around the room and didn't see Michael. She smiled and said, "I used to just barge in without knocking, worried I'd interrupt something. Where's Michael?"

Isabella shook her head, "No idea. Do you have something to tell me? By the way, didn't Benjamin mention a surprise for you? What is it?"

Isabella looked at Amelia curiously.

Amelia casually played with her hair, and Isabella noticed her new earrings.

"Just some ordinary jewelry. Men only know how to give clothes, jewelry, and cosmetics," Amelia complained, but her smile gave away her happiness.

Isabella rolled her eyes, "It's already good if men give you those things. What else do you expect? Some guys can't even tell lipstick shades apart."

Amelia held Isabella's hand and smiled, "What about Michael? Can he tell lipstick shades apart?"

Isabella nodded, "He knows more lipstick shades than I do."

Isabella had no idea that Michael was actually her former boss at the cosmetics company. Of course, he knew shades.

Then Isabella seemed to remember something and asked Amelia seriously, "Amelia, I need to ask you something, and you have to be honest with me."

Amelia nodded. "Shoot."

Isabella took a deep breath and asked, staring into Amelia's eyes, "Do you think Michael really loves me?"

Amelia was stunned by the question. She blinked a few times and asked in surprise, "Why are you asking this? Did you have a fight with Michael?"

Isabella shook her head, "We haven't really fought since we got married."

Amelia tilted her head, giving Isabella a once-over before reaching out to touch her forehead.

Isabella pushed Amelia's hand away, annoyed. "I'm not sick, I just need to ask this."

Rolling her eyes, Amelia said, "I don't know why you're asking, but there's something you need to understand."

"What?" Isabella asked, confused.

"When you were going through tough times, did Michael ever run away?" Amelia asked seriously.

Isabella fell silent.

She thought of John. Even when John was being a jerk, Michael never backed down. Sometimes she wished Michael would just give up, but he always stood by her, encouraging her.

Amelia's words hit home.

"Remember when you were fighting John for the company shares? Everyone underestimated you. How many execs were ready to side with John to strip you of power? But Michael always had your back. Wasn't he afraid of John?" Amelia's words reaffirmed Isabella's thoughts.

"I never doubted him, it's just that something happened earlier that made me think," Isabella sighed with a smile and then told Amelia about taking the drunk Elise back to her room.

"Don't worry about other people's problems. Some things we don't need to get involved in." Amelia gently hugged Isabella.

Isabella narrowed her eyes, looking thoughtful.

It all seemed too coincidental-meeting Elise on the first day at the hotel, hearing about the pitfalls of international marriages, then getting photos of Michael's supposed affair, and finally, taking the drunk Elise back to her room where Elise warned her about international marriages.

It felt like fate was warning her, but all these coincidences together didn't seem random.

Isabella and Amelia chatted briefly, and soon after, there was a knock on the door, and Michael walked in.

Amelia, seeing the flowers in Michael's hand, tactfully stood up from the edge of the bed.

"Looks like someone has something to say to his wife, so I'll leave you two alone. See you tomorrow," Amelia gave Isabella a knowing look and then left the room.

After Amelia left, Michael handed the bouquet of flowers to Isabella.

"My dear, do you like these flowers?" Michael asked with a smile.

Isabella hugged the bouquet and nodded. The red roses symbolized fiery passion and were indeed beautiful.

"Why is there a small gift box on top?" Isabella suddenly noticed a small gift box on top of the bouquet. She picked it up, opened it, and found a beautiful necklace inside.

"Why the sudden gift?" Isabella looked at Michael, surprised.

Michael shrugged, "Don't look at me, this is Benjamin losing a bet to you. As for the flowers, they cost me $100."
