Chapter 292

Jasper had been searching for a while, dreading the news he would find, but came up empty-handed. He let out a sigh of relief.

He was really worried that John would find out about him selling the shares to others. If John found out, he'd be livid. He might even get the agent who helped him escape the country to track Jasper down.

But there was nothing in the news about the Taylor Family's shares. That meant John and Bianca hadn't started any reorganization of the shares yet.

Jasper had no idea why they hadn't done anything after all this time, but as long as no one found out, he was in the clear. What he didn't know was that the rumors about Isabella he had just stumbled upon were actually tied to the shares.

Jasper was clueless that Isabella had snagged 40% of the shares and was now the second biggest shareholder. The press conference hadn't happened yet, so the media was still in the dark.

After wrapping up his search, Jasper looked around cautiously and then slipped out of the alley with his head down. Since he escaped from the hospital, he knew the police would be after him. He couldn't risk taking a taxi or public transport, so he had to dodge the patrolling cops and walk to the harbor.

Just after Jasper left, the young guy in the alley twitched his fingers a bit.

Meanwhile, Michael got a call from his subordinate, confirming that Jasper had reached out to that 'smuggler'.

"Mr. Williams, should I just grab Jasper when he shows up and bring him to you? Or should I interrogate him first and find out where he's hidden the embezzled funds?" the subordinate suggested over the phone.

Michael, tapping his desk thoughtfully, found the idea tempting. But would Jasper really spill the beans? And would he tell the whole truth?

Michael trusted his subordinate's methods, but he was worried that Jasper would hold back some info.

"Don't we have a new research project called Parasite Localization?" Michael suddenly asked over the phone.

The subordinate nodded. "Yeah, Mr. Williams, we do. It's like a spider. Once swallowed, it sticks to the stomach and doesn't get dissolved by stomach acid. But it's still experimental and pretty expensive, so we don't have many."

Michael narrowed his eyes. "I'll arrange for a private plane to deliver the localization device within six hours. Find a way to get that thing into Jasper's mouth."

"Don't worry, Mr. Williams, I'll make sure he swallows it," the subordinate said with a sinister chuckle.

On the other side, Bianca stormed back to the winery and started smashing everything in the bedroom.

"Damn Isabella stole what I wanted again! Damn it, that bitch should go to hell," Bianca fumed, flipping a table in the room.

Just then, Bianca's phone buzzed in her pocket. She quickly answered it.

"Can you just take care of Isabella and get rid of that bitch?" she blurted out before the caller could say anything. "She somehow got the shares from those minority shareholders! Now she's the second largest shareholder of the company. With Jasper out of commission, she could almost take over as the CEO!"

A cold laugh came from the other end of the line, cutting through her rant. "I've long given up on you. It's obvious Isabella has some tricks up her sleeve. When it comes to scheming, you only know some petty tricks. You can't outsmart your sister."

Bianca snapped back, "Enough! I don't need you calling me stupid. I just want to know if you have a way to fix this!"

The voice on the phone turned icy. "I regret choosing a fool like you. Anyway, there's no need to worry. The country's laws have changed. If you can find the embezzled funds Jasper transferred and fix the companies' financial mess, you can get his shares! I called to tell you this good news. But I didn't expect you to hit me with bad news."

Bianca's anger turned to excitement. "So there's still a way, that's great! But where do I find the embezzled funds Jasper took?"

The person on the phone sounded annoyed. "Are you really that dense? No one would know if the money you present is the embezzled fund. You say it is, and it is! Understand? The important thing is to fill the gap!"

Bianca's face darkened. "Have you forgotten that John doesn't have the money to give me now? Where am I supposed to find the money to cover the embezzled funds?"

"That's not my problem. Maybe you can ask John, he might have a solution," the voice on the phone said coldly before hanging up.

Bianca angrily threw her phone on the bed and sat on the edge, running her hands through her hair.

Just then, she heard footsteps outside the door. She immediately recognized them as John's.

Bianca quickly stood up, tidied her hair and clothes, and took a deep breath, trying to calm herself.

The door swung open, and John walked in, his face a mask of displeasure. He took in the wreckage of the room, his brows knitting together in a deep frown.

Bianca hurried to John, took his hand awkwardly, and said, "Darling, I have some bad news. Those minority shareholders have been deceiving me all along. They never respected you. Isabella somehow bought their shares, and now she's the second largest shareholder of the company. She even held a senior management meeting and humiliated me in front of everyone. I was so angry, I couldn't control my emotions."

Despite her words, John's expression remained grim.

"Darling, are you mad at me for breaking things? Is that why you're upset?" Bianca asked sadly.

But John shook his head. "It's not that. I just got news that Jasper has escaped from the hospital, and now a lot of people are looking for him."
