Chapter 348
When Isabella got home that evening, she broke the news to Michael about Bianca being pregnant.
To her surprise, Michael stayed cool as a cucumber, like he already knew.
"I went to the clinic for a check-up today and saw John and Bianca there. They didn't see me though, I hid," Michael said, tweaking the story a bit.
Isabella flopped onto the sofa, tapping her forehead. "Is God on my side or Bianca's? Why does my life always feel like a mess, while Bianca keeps hurting me and still gets away with it?"
Michael chuckled, sat next to her, and started massaging her head to help her chill out.
"Don't stress, babe. Even if Bianca's pregnant, there's already a rift between her and John. After this, she won't mess with us for a while. We can finally have some peace," Michael said with a smile, then brought up the idea of taking their wedding photos.
Isabella sat up, curious. "Honey, have you thought about where we should take our wedding photos?"
"Of course, babe. How about Lumaria? I heard it's already snowing there, and the mountain scenery is gorgeous. We might even see some cherry blossoms, though it's not really the season. But skiing sounds fun too," Michael suggested with a grin.
After thinking it over, Isabella agreed. "That sounds perfect. Let's go. It's the perfect time to leave the company stuff to the execs."
They agreed on the plan and started chatting about what to do once they got to Lumaria.
Two days flew by, and it was time for their trip.
Their private plane landed at the airport, decked out with plush sofas and even massage chairs. Michael grabbed a beer and a juice from the fridge, handing the juice to Isabella before sitting next to her.
"Why are you two tagging along for our wedding photoshoot?" Michael asked Amelia, who was sitting on the other side of Isabella, and Benjamin, who was lounging in the massage chair.
Benjamin, enjoying the massage chair, waved his hand nonchalantly. "Michael, don't forget, this is my private plane. My girlfriend and I were already planning to travel. If she hadn't insisted on staying with your wife, we'd be somewhere else."
He glanced at Amelia after saying this.
Amelia just rolled her eyes but didn't say anything, seemingly accepting the girlfriend label. Benjamin grinned, satisfied.
Isabella looked at Michael and smiled. "Honey, you know women have the final say when it comes to wedding dresses. I invited Amelia to help me pick one out."
Michael nodded, smiling as he stroked Isabella's hair. "Alright, babe, your call. At least we have a doctor with us."
Benjamin groaned, "Seriously, you guys are using my plane and now me too!"
Michael just gave a cold smile and turned to Amelia. "What do you think, Amelia?"
Amelia shot him a look. "I think you're pushing it too."
Benjamin smugly patted his thigh and laughed.
Isabella joined in the laughter, while Michael rubbed his nose, feeling a bit awkward.
Then Amelia remembered something and asked, "I heard Bianca got out of the detention center again because she's pregnant. Could this be another stunt like the kidney failure thing?"
Isabella and Michael's faces darkened at the mention of Bianca.
Benjamin shook his head. "John's not that dumb. From what I found out, he took Bianca to the hospital to confirm the pregnancy. She's just really lucky, finding another way to manipulate John."
Amelia looked a bit worried. She turned to Isabella and said, "Isabella, now that Bianca's pregnant, Mason might not be able to help you deal with her like before. The baby is part of their family, after all."
Isabella smiled and shook her head. "Don't worry. Since I became CEO, Mason's help has been minimal. If Bianca tries anything again, I trust Mason will make the right call."
Isabella had faith in Mason. While he valued family legacy, he wouldn't let anyone use a child to threaten him.
Michael nodded slightly. Knowing Mason's younger days, he might have kept the child and dealt with the mother if threatened.
Though Mason had mellowed with age, it didn't mean he wouldn't resort to his old ways if pushed.
Sensing the heaviness of the topic, Amelia switched gears.
"Even Bianca's pregnant, why haven't you two made any moves yet?" Amelia teased, patting Isabella's belly.
Isabella blushed.
Benjamin looked at Michael curiously. "Yeah, you called me the other day, saying you were busy all night, almost broke your back. How come there's no baby yet with all that effort?"
Isabella shot Michael a red-faced glare.
"Why do you tell everyone everything?" she snapped, twisting Michael's waist.
Michael winced, his expression changing as he glared at Benjamin. "Can't you keep your mouth shut sometimes?"
Benjamin shrugged, grinning mischievously.
Rubbing his sore waist, Michael shot back, "Benjamin, don't just talk about us. What about you two?"
Benjamin and Amelia looked awkward and didn't respond. They hadn't even gotten that far recently.
