Chapter 412

After getting John's message, Mike didn't put up a fight. John had dirt on him, so Mike had no choice but to go along with it.

After hanging up, Mike let out a sigh and glanced over at Joe, who was lounging on the couch, munching on snacks and playing video games. Then he dialed Michael's number.

Meanwhile, Michael was at the office, listening to Jerry give an update on their latest projects.

Jerry stood beside Michael, clutching a notebook filled with the latest updates. "Our company just landed deals with Avalonia and a few local athletes to showcase our ads on their uniforms. We also managed to secure some ad space from the Olympic Committee, but it's not as much as what John got due to some territory issues," Jerry explained.

Jerry then pulled out a small notebook from his pocket, flipped to a page, and said, "Estella managed to work out a partnership with Zoey. They're going to use our channels to help Paxton sell products from their family business."

Michael listened to Jerry's report with a calm, unreadable expression. When Jerry finished, Michael shook his head.

"This is still too slow," Michael said flatly.

Jerry chuckled, "Mr. Williams, you gotta give us some time. Our people aren't superheroes; perfect infiltration takes time."

"That's why I said it's too slow. Have Paxton's guys found anything?" Michael asked.

Jerry shook his head, "Joe destroyed a lot of stuff before he left. They can't find Joe or that so-called diary."

"Sometimes you don't need to find it, just need some false accusations. Just like what we did to Bianca." Michael stretched and got up from his chair.

Jerry paused for a moment, then quickly caught on to what Michael meant.

Following Michael to the balcony, Jerry asked, "So, are you worried someone might fake a diary to mess with Mrs. Williams?"

Michael nodded. "It's possible, right? Paxton's guys are all shady, easy to bribe and infiltrate. If we can get info about the diary, so can other families. A crazy dad is an easy tool to manipulate."

Jerry, standing behind Michael, looked concerned. "If that's the case, we need to find a way to turn the tables. If we have to, we can just take out Paxton, that mad dog."

Michael smiled, "Paxton's still useful to us. At least until we completely take over his family, he can't go down."

Just then, Michael's phone rang. Jerry walked over to the table, curious, picked up the phone, and handed it to Michael.

During this, Jerry saw the name "Mike" on the screen.

Michael answered the call, "What's up, Mike? Why the sudden call?"

Mike said into the phone, "Mr. Williams, John just called me and asked me to help him track down Joe."

Michael frowned. "Did he say why?"

Mike shook his head. "No, Mr. Williams, John didn't give any details. He had eased up on looking for Joe, but now he's suddenly all over it again. Feels like there's something we're missing."

Michael quickly pieced it together.

"Bianca probably spilled the beans to John about what she did and that the car explosion was meant for her. John had to step in to protect his woman and kid," Michael said with a cold smile.

"So, what do we do? Should we keep laying low or maybe throw out some fake info to stir up trouble between Paxton and John's guys?" Mike suggested.

Michael thought for a moment and nodded. "Yeah, let's go with that. We need to buy some time; our people need more time to fully infiltrate the Brown Family."

Mike agreed and hung up.

But just as Michael put his phone away, Jerry's phone rang.

Jerry glanced at the caller ID and answered the call right in front of Michael.

"What's up? Why the emergency call?" Jerry asked, looking serious.

The call was from Tim, who had infiltrated the Brown Family's business. Jerry had told them not to call unless it was urgent, as it could blow their cover.

Tim, on the other end, sounded worried. "Sir, I think I've been made, but they haven't outed me yet. I found out the Brown Family has other issues."

Michael and Jerry both frowned.

"What do you mean? You got made but you're still there and found more problems? Explain," Jerry demanded coldly.

Tim quickly said, "I suspect the Brown Family has been infiltrated by others. I looked into the employees and found many used to work for the Taylor Family. After Paxton took over, he kept a lot of them. Many top execs are still former Taylor Family people."

Michael grabbed Jerry's phone and asked, "Wait, I get it. You're saying the person who found you out is from the Taylor Family? But they didn't report you, right?"

Tim hesitated. "Mr. Williams, you're there too? Yes, that's exactly it."

Michael narrowed his eyes. "Paxton's no idiot. Even though he took over the Taylor Family's company, he must've put his own people in charge. Got any other intel?"
