Chapter 56

Isabella couldn't believe Terry had the guts to butt into her fight with Bianca.

Terry, standing his ground in front of Isabella, raised an eyebrow. He wasn't sure who Isabella was, but her attitude screamed connections.

"Just so you know, I'm Isabella! I used to be John's fiancée," Isabella sneered at Terry.

Terry thought the name Isabella sounded familiar. After a moment, his face went pale. Seeing Terry's reaction, Isabella knew he had figured out who she was.

"Although I've already broken off the engagement with John, Mr. Mason Williams treats me like his own granddaughter. If you mess with me, I'll report you to him. Mr. Williams might not hurt John, but someone will pay for his anger. Guess who that might be?" Isabella said, patting Terry's arm coldly.

'Bianca, that idiot, told me she just had a spat with someone. Why didn't she tell me the true identity of Isabella?' Terry's face turned white, cursing Bianca in his mind.

Even though the beef between Isabella and Bianca wasn't public knowledge, Terry, working for the Williams Family, had heard some whispers. This task was given by John; he didn't think much of it at first, but now it seemed like a big mess.

"Sorry for the interruption, Ms. Taylor," Terry forced a smile and quickly left the police station.

As he walked out, Bianca stopped him.

"How'd it go? You said you had a way to deal with that bitch Isabella. Is she scared of going to jail now?" Bianca asked eagerly.

'Bianca is such an idiot, almost got me killed, damn it,' Terry cursed Bianca in his head but kept a smile on his face.

"I'm sorry, Ms. Taylor. This is a bit complicated. I need to talk to Mr. Williams first." After saying that politely, Terry left the police station.

Even though Terry wanted to punch Bianca to vent his anger, his position didn't allow it.

John, who was in the hospital, suddenly got a call from Terry.

"What's up, Terry? How's it going?" John asked casually, not really caring who Bianca wanted to mess with, as no one dared to cross him in this city.

Taking a deep breath, Terry said over the phone, "Mr. Williams, Ms. Bianca Taylor wants to deal with Ms. Isabella Taylor. They had a fight today; I checked it out. Ms. Isabella Taylor's stuff got smashed, but it wasn't clear if Ms. Bianca Taylor did it. You know Ms. Isabella Taylor has ties with Mr. Williams. I think we should just drop this."

Terry's plan was to avoid pissing off either side. He already knew Bianca had smashed Isabella's stuff, leading to the fight.

But Terry didn't want to cross Bianca now, so he left it to John to sort out the mess between the two women.

John frowned, realizing Terry might be scared of Mason, so he didn't push him. He told him to finish up at the police station and come back.

After hanging up, Terry let out a big sigh of relief. Finally, he could dodge this mess. Just as he was about to head back to the police station, he spotted a familiar face.

"Mr. Evans, what brings you here?" Terry asked, surprised to see the middle-aged man.

The man was Nathan Evans, a top-notch lawyer and Terry's old mentor. Nathan had been semi-retired for a while and rarely took on cases.

Nathan greeted Terry with a smile, "One of my clients got into a fight. I'm here to help her out."

Terry raised an eyebrow, guessing that Nathan's client was probably Isabella.

"I'm here for a case too, so I won't keep you, Mr. Evans. Please, go ahead." Terry said politely, inviting Nathan into the police station before quickly finding Bianca.

Bianca was on the phone with John.

"I didn't lie to you, John. I just went to talk to Isabella, but she went nuts, smashed stuff, and hit me. I was just defending myself. How could I, in a wheelchair, possibly beat her? I'm the victim here," Bianca whined, tears streaming down her face.

Terry's brow furrowed as he watched Bianca, feeling a wave of disgust.

'Why did Mr. Williams fall for someone straight out of a trashy TV drama?' Terry thought, but he put on a neutral face as Bianca finished her call.

"Ms. Taylor, let's drop it for today. Isabella isn't someone we can mess with," Terry said politely.

Bianca wasn't having it. She pointed to the bruises on her face, fuming, "Why? That bitch Isabella did this to me! Why can't she go to jail?"

Even though Terry was disgusted, he had to lay it out for her.

"Ms. Bianca Taylor, Ms. Isabella Taylor has probably already told Mr. Mason Williams about what happened. He has stepped in. You know what that means," Terry said, giving Bianca a reality check.

Terry didn't actually know if Mason had brought in his mentor Nathan, but it didn't matter. He just wanted out of this mess.

When Bianca heard Mason was involved, she clammed up and silently wheeled herself out of the police station.

"Ms. Taylor, let me help you." Terry said, a cold smile playing on his lips as he helped push her wheelchair. He wanted her out of there before she ran into Isabella.

A few minutes later, Isabella and Nathan left the police station.

"Thanks for your help today, Mr. Evans," Isabella said with a polite smile before saying goodbye.

Nathan watched her leave, puzzled. "Didn't Isabella call off the engagement with John? Why is Michael still helping her like this?"

Isabella had no idea what Nathan was thinking, but she had learned from him that Michael had sent him to help her.
