Chapter 334
Brenda's words hit everyone like a bombshell. The cops confirmed that the golden cars were bought with Jasper's embezzled funds. With the current gold prices, the cars not only cover the stolen money but also leave a surplus.
Bianca slumped in her chair, looking defeated, while John wasn't faring any better.
Isabella stood there, arms crossed, giving John and Bianca a smug look. She was the real winner here.
Isabella's gaze swept over the room.
Those who had backed Bianca earlier were now slumped in their chairs, realizing they'd completely crossed Isabella. They were looking at either getting fired or even facing jail time for embezzlement.
Isabella turned to John and said, "Sure, the gold covers the public funds, but it takes time to cash it out. I've already talked to Mason and mortgaged the gold to him to pay off the funds. This doesn't break the bet between you and your grandpa, right?"
John glared at Isabella, slammed the table, and stormed out.
He was too embarrassed to stick around. He'd lost this round and now had to give up a tenth of his assets to Mason.
"Wait up, John. I'll come with you," Bianca said, getting up to follow him.
But just as they reached the door, Isabella stopped them.
"Why the rush? I'm not done yet. There's more drama to come," Isabella said with a cold smile.
Bianca felt a bad vibe. "Enough, Isabella. Have you humiliated us enough? John is Mason's grandson. Don't push it," she said, looking gloomy.
John also thought Isabella was trying to make more fun of him, and his face darkened.
But Isabella shook her head, "No, I'm not here to humiliate you. I need to talk to Bianca."
The company execs were all curious, especially Carol, who looked intrigued.
Even Brenda was curious. She'd achieved her goal for today but was eager to see the family's internal drama.
Bianca's sense of doom grew stronger. She screamed and tried to push Isabella. "Enough, Isabella! I won't take your humiliation anymore! Let's go, John."
Bianca opened the door, only to be stopped by a stern-faced Benjamin.
Seeing Benjamin, Bianca felt like she'd been struck by lightning. She guessed Isabella's plan, remembering Benjamin had been investigating her illness.
John knew Benjamin too. He was friends with Michael and had performed Bianca's kidney transplant surgery last time.
"Dr. White, what are you doing here? Did my uncle send you?" John frowned, thinking Benjamin was here on Michael's orders to back up Isabella.
Benjamin nodded and smiled. "Yep, your uncle sent me, but not to speak for Isabella. I'm here to talk about something concerning Bianca."
"We have nothing to talk about!" Bianca suddenly screamed, trying to pull John away, but the bodyguard behind Benjamin stopped her.
Benjamin pointed to the conference room and said with a smile, "Mr. Williams, why don't we sit down and talk? It's rude to leave me standing here."
John sensed something was off. He looked at Bianca and saw her trembling with fear. He took a deep breath, feeling that something big was about to go down.
"Alright, let's hear what you have to say," John said, heading back to the conference room and sitting down. Bianca's legs were shaking so much that she almost fell off her chair.
Bianca thought, 'Is Benjamin going to talk about that? Does he have proof? No way, it must be fake.' She prayed silently, but Benjamin's next words shattered her hopes.
Benjamin held up two diagnostic reports. "These are Ms. Taylor's health reports. One is from her hospitalization, the other is recent. It's unbelievable-Ms. Taylor was a severe uremia patient, but now she's recovered to a normal level. This defies medical logic!"
"What are you trying to say? Are you suggesting I was faking my illness? I've told you, I met a medical expert, took the medicine he gave me, and that's why I recovered so quickly," Bianca argued.
Benjamin looked at her coldly. "There's no medicine in the world that can make a uremia patient who just had a kidney transplant recover to normal in a week," he said.
Bianca grew more frightened, noticing the suspicion in John's eyes.
Benjamin then produced a second report. He held it up and said, "There were rumors that Ms. Taylor and Isabella were a match for kidney donation, but our tests show their kidneys don't match at all. If Ms. Taylor really had Isabella's kidney transplanted into her, it would be fatal."
Everyone in the room seemed to realize something, some looking at Bianca in shock.
Carol couldn't help but ask, "Bianca, were you trying to get Isabella's kidney?"
Bianca stayed silent.
Isabella sneered. "She doesn't just want my kidney, she wants my life! Bianca has been pretending to be a uremia patient and has mentioned in front of John more than once that she needs my kidney to survive. John even told me that if I donated my kidney to Bianca, he would agree to marry me! After I refused, they even tried to kidnap me and take my kidney by force."
