Chapter 347

After Michael and Jerry walked out of the clinic, their faces were grim.

"I thought we had Bianca this time, that she'd be locked up for good. Seems like she's got some serious luck," Michael muttered.

During their chat with the doctor, Michael found out that John had brought a woman in for a check-up yesterday. From the doc's description, it was definitely Bianca.

The doctor mentioned that Bianca was exhausted and in shock, which could affect her pregnancy. He gave her some meds to help keep the baby safe and calm her down.

"Since you're the young man's elder, you should give him some advice. Make sure he takes care of the pregnant woman's feelings. Women are extra sensitive when they're expecting. Ignoring her could harm the baby, maybe even cause a miscarriage," the doctor told Michael, hoping he'd look out for the younger folks.

Thinking back on the doc's words, Michael's face grew darker.

Jerry, noticing Michael's mood, said, "Mr. Williams, are you worried Bianca's carrying John's baby? You think she'll use the kid to make things harder for Mrs. Williams? If she tries that, we've got plenty of ways to cause a miscarriage."

A flash of coldness crossed Jerry's face.

Michael rolled his eyes and said, "I don't care about Bianca. I'm thinking about something else."

Jerry was clueless about what Michael was pondering.

Actually, Michael was wondering why he and Isabella hadn't gotten pregnant after all this time.

Bianca had pretended to be a uremia patient before. To make it believable, she definitely hadn't been with John, so they had less than a month together. Yet, in that short time, she got pregnant!

"Should Isabella and I get checked out?" Michael started to worry about their future.

After leaving the clinic, John took the meds home. Bianca was asleep in bed.

Watching her sleep, John's feelings were all over the place. He still remembered what happened when he got her out of the detention center yesterday.

That day, after hearing the bad news about her parents, Bianca fainted but woke up soon after. John arrived at the detention center just then and saw her.

Bianca hugged John, crying her heart out, saying Dexter had died.

After a moment, John told Bianca she was pregnant. She was stunned but then wiped her tears and stopped crying.

"A pregnant woman's emotions can affect the baby's health. John, wait for me, I'll grab my stuff from the cell." Bianca smiled at John and, led by the guard, went back to her cell.

Soon after, a woman's scream and alarms blared from the detention center.

When John rushed into the cell with the others, he was horrified by what he saw.

Bianca stood there, covered in blood, with three women in front of her who had been stabbed in the eyes.

With a twisted smile, Bianca turned her blood-stained face to John.

"John, they bullied me. You'll protect us, right?" Bianca touched her belly and looked at John for reassurance.

John knew this was Bianca's way of getting back at him. But he had no choice. He couldn't let his child be born in prison. So, he pulled some strings to bail her out.

The three blinded women were diagnosed with a deadly bacterium causing eye injuries and would have to stay in a facility for the disabled.

After leaving the detention center, John took Bianca to the hospital. The doctors recommended a clinic for gentle medication to help her adjust. Coincidentally, this clinic was the same one where Michael had bought the medication.

Meanwhile, when Isabella got to the office, she had to deal with some job applicants, some for interviews, and some recommended by Carol.

Isabella suspected there might be spies from the Four Families among them. But for now, she had no choice because the company was really short-staffed. She planned to investigate and clear out the moles once things settled down.

After agreeing to the last applicant's request to join, Isabella rubbed her face vigorously and flopped down in her office chair without any grace.

"Looks like you had a rough night," Carol said with a smile.

Isabella lazily waved her hand, "My husband is even more exhausted than me. He's probably still lying in bed, not wanting to move."

Isabella felt a wave of drowsiness. Even though she was a CEO now, her work was way busier than in those novels.

"Forget it, get some rest. There's nothing else to do today. I'll head back to my office," Carol said, taking the files and leaving.

Feeling more and more sleepy, just as Isabella was about to take a nap, her phone suddenly rang.

Isabella reluctantly picked up her phone and saw it was Brenda calling.

Isabella sighed, thinking there might be some trouble at the police station again. She answered, "Officer Pena, what's up?"

Brenda's tone was a bit off. She said in a low voice, "Isabella, I have some bad news. Bianca's been bailed out by John."

Isabella immediately snapped out of her drowsiness. She opened her eyes, furrowed her brow, and sat up straight in her chair. "Has John lost his mind? He's taking in a woman who keeps deceiving him. Has he really gone crazy?"

Brenda chuckled bitterly. "I'm sorry, Isabella. Even if you go to Mason this time, he might not help you."

"Why?" Isabella asked, puzzled.

"Because Bianca is pregnant," Brenda said flatly.

Isabella was left stunned.
