Chapter 466

The two gang members yanked Daniel away, and he cried out as they dragged him off.

"No, Amelia, I messed up! Please forgive me. I don't want to go back there! Please!" Daniel reached out to Amelia, hoping she'd help.

But Amelia turned away, not wanting to see.

Benjamin put his arm around her shoulders and said, "You don't have to feel bad for him, babe. He deserves this."

Amelia nodded and pulled out her phone to call Isabella.

Isabella had been super busy lately, taking over the Brown Family's business, so Amelia had been hesitant to call and interrupt her.

After two weeks, Amelia figured Isabella might have more time, so she decided to give her a ring.

After a couple of rings, Isabella picked up, sounding pleasantly surprised. "Oh, Amelia, you finally called! I thought you forgot about me."

Amelia laughed. "How could I forget you? You're my bestie. How's everything going with all the craziness? Are you feeling more chill now? I didn't want to bug you."

"Why would you? It was nuts at first, but things are running smoothly now. I'm much more relaxed!" Isabella said, stretching with a satisfied sigh.

Amelia congratulated her. "Congrats, Ms. Taylor, on getting back into the Big Four Families."

Rolling her eyes, Isabella teased, "You didn't just call to congratulate me, did you? What's up?"

Amelia nodded. "Actually, it's about my dad."

Amelia shared with Isabella what she had seen on the street.

Surprised, Isabella commented, "The gang members really did it. Looks like your dad is getting a wake-up call."

"No, I think he still needs more than that. He hasn't truly owned up to his mistakes. He's not sorry; he's just scared of the consequences," Amelia said bitterly.

As Benjamin had mentioned, Daniel had caused decades of pain to Amelia and her mom, and two weeks of punishment couldn't make up for that.

"It seems you're on board with my way of handling things. I'll call Jake to continue then," Isabella said with a grin.

Isabella knew about Amelia's family history, but with Amelia and her mom moving away and cutting ties with Daniel for years, she had kind of forgotten about it.

Isabella had always been furious about Daniel's actions. Now she finally had the chance to make him pay.

After thanking Isabella once more, Amelia hung up.

Suddenly, Amelia noticed Benjamin scowling at his phone, like he had stumbled upon something. Curious, she walked over to peek at his phone screen and was stunned to see a video making rounds on social media.

"Is that my dad?" Amelia gaped in disbelief.

The video showed Daniel helping an elderly person cross the street, starting from when he was being attacked.

The person who shared the video online was probably a driver waiting behind them, and they titled it "A Silent Good Man."

There were tons of comments under the video.

[A truly kind person wouldn't resort to violence but would lend a helping hand to the vulnerable.]

[You can hit me, but I won't hit back because I stand for what's right.]

[Your fists are for harm, but my hands are for justice!]

[I want to give this man a round of applause; he's my inspiration!]

Many praised Daniel's behavior. Of course, some saw not fighting back as a sign of weakness.

But more people believed that Daniel's choice to help others without violence came from a belief that aggression didn't solve anything.

"Oh my gosh, what's wrong with these people? They have no clue about your dad's past!" Benjamin exclaimed angrily.

Amelia shrugged, kind of resigned. "These days, a lot of people online don't care about the truth; they just go by what they see, leading to a lot of online drama."

"No, the truth shouldn't be hidden. Your dad isn't a hero; he's just a beast in chains," Benjamin said, typing on his phone.

Confused, Amelia asked, "What are you up to, babe?"

"I'm going to unveil the reality. Let everyone know that your dad is actually an abusive man! All of this is part of his punishment," Benjamin said irritably.

Amelia stood by, watching Benjamin's rage without stepping in, knowing that all his actions were driven by his devotion to her.

Benjamin sent a message detailing the whole story to the comments on the video.

90 Million Girls' Dream Lover: ["Everyone, don't be fooled by this guy. He's an abusive alcoholic with a track record of domestic violence. He's done some terrible things, like beating his wife and daughter, and even threatening his daughter for money! What's happening to him now is just justice being served."]

Soon, he was bombarded with responses, everyone shocked to discover that the seemingly heroic Daniel had a dark side.

[Oh my, this man is awful. I never imagined he was capable of such things.]

[Don't you find the gang that reforms people intriguing?]

[I'm a filmmaker, and I think this story would make a fantastic movie!]

[It could be a comedy flick; it's so captivating. Which neighborhood is this gang in?]

Benjamin scanned the replies, then smirked at Amelia. "See, people won't easily buy into your dad's facade."

However, Amelia just glanced at Benjamin's username and rolled her eyes. "Honey, your username is seriously cringeworthy."
