Chapter 300
The manager wrapped up his speech and pulled out his phone to call his boss. Being just a regular restaurant manager, he didn't have Paxton's number, so he had to go through a whole chain of command.
It took forever. Meanwhile, Isabella and her coworkers gathered around, curious about what was going on.
Estella felt super uncomfortable and just wanted to get out of there. Right now, people were holding back because she was Michael's wife, and no one was recording anything yet. But if someone did and sold it to the media, how would the headlines read?

The thought of Michael's anger if this hit the news made her shiver. He might take everything away from her.
"Mrs. Brown, this restaurant was booked by employees from my husband's company, who are also my employees. How can I let our company's employees get kicked out? How will I stand in the company? How will my husband see me? If you still want to be my friend, please leave with me now." Estella's voice was firm, with a hint of warning.
As she spoke, Estella stood protectively in front of Isabella, shielding the employees behind her, presenting a fragile yet dependable figure.
Isabella's admiration for Estella grew.
The employees behind her were also secretly impressed by Estella's actions. The president's wife standing up for the lower-level employees earned her a lot of respect.
Estella, always sharp, knew her actions were strategic. She understood that her future depended on Michael, and Zoey was just someone Michael asked her to keep an eye on. Even if the mission failed, her future wouldn't change much.
Zoey started to calm down as she looked at Estella. Pearl's injury had made her really angry, causing her to lose her temper. Now, she was a bit worried about offending Estella.
Just then, Zoey's phone rang. She took it out, glanced at the screen, and her face changed. It was Paxton calling.
The manager's detailed report had finally reached Paxton, and he was furious.
When Paxton found out his wife had caused trouble again, he was so mad he almost threw his phone.
"What are you doing? We're businessmen! You want to kick customers out of the restaurant? Are you crazy? Apologize to those customers right now and then get out of there!" Paxton's angry voice boomed through the phone, making Zoey tremble.
"I understand," Zoey sighed softly and hung up.
Zoey hesitated, looking between Estella and Isabella. Turning to Dwayne and the other employees, she bowed slightly, her voice full of regret.
"I'm really sorry, everyone. I got a bit carried away. I was thinking about my poor daughter, and my emotions just got the best of me. You all know how tough things have been for her. I'm really sorry," Zoey said, tears streaming down her face. She covered her mouth, crying, and ran out of the restaurant.
Estella watched Zoey leave, feeling a bit awkward standing there.
"Mr. Larson, Isabella, I'm sorry. Zoey is a friend of mine, and her actions today have upset me too. Please accept my sincere apologies." Estella slightly bowed to Dwayne and Isabella.
"You don't have to apologize. We know this has nothing to do with you," Dwayne responded quickly.
Estella shook her head and looked at Dwayne. "Mr. Larson, please ask the employees not to spread what happened today. You know my husband likes to keep a low profile. As compensation, let me cover the expenses for this gathering."
"No need, you're too kind. I'll take care of it," Isabella quickly stepped forward to stop Estella from paying.
At that moment, the restaurant manager walked over with a smile. "Ms. Taylor, I'm sorry for the bad experience today. Mr. Brown has called me, and he will cover all your expenses at the restaurant today."
Isabella was stunned, not expecting Paxton to be so generous.
Estella's lips curved into a light jest, "Looks like I can save some money today."
She then looked at Isabella with a smile. "Ms. Taylor, it's a pity you resgined on the first day we met. I wish you all the best in your future career. I have other matters to attend to now. Please, enjoy the rest of your evening."
After saying goodbye to Isabella and Dwayne, Estella left the restaurant.
Isabella watched Estella leave and smiled. "I never imagined the boss's wife to be so gentle. He must cherish her deeply."
Dwayne nodded in agreement. "I think so. I wish I had such a beautiful and gentle wife."
The driver Leo, who was hiding in the crowd, smirked when he heard the conversation between Isabella and Dwayne. Michael, who was also on the phone, heard it too.
Michael sighed helplessly. He had already seen from the video that Estella was implicated by Zoey, and everything that happened today couldn't be blamed on her. She had managed the situation with commendable poise.
Michael decided to call Jerry later and ask him to provide Estella with more resources, so she could get more attention.
On the other side, Estella had no idea that a surprise was about to come her way. She found Zoey crying outside the restaurant.
Frowning, Estella approached, her voice gentle yet probing, "Mrs. Brown, what happened?"
Zoey wiped her tears. She knew her behavior today had caused Estella's dissatisfaction and sought to make amends. She had found a way to begin.
Zoey took out her phone, opened a picture, and when Estella saw it, her body trembled, almost dropping the phone.
"Who is this woman?" Estella asked in amazement.
Pain showed in Zoey's eyes. "This is my daughter. I'm sorry, Ms. Foster. I lost my temper earlier because of Isabella, who I suspect is one of the people who hurt her."
