Chapter 106

Isabella's earlier scream, though muffled by the room's soundproofing, still managed to reach Kenna, who was on his way upstairs to find Michael.

Kenna's hand froze mid-air, just about to knock on the door, when he heard the sounds coming from inside.

A servant walked over and greeted Kenna out of habit.

"Mr. Williams, you..." The servant's words trailed off when he saw Kenna's intense gaze.

Under that sharp look, the servant quickly shut his mouth.

Kenna waved him off, and the servant tiptoed away, trying to be as quiet as possible.

Kenna stood at the door, listening to the faint moans from inside, a smirk forming on his lips. He then quietly left the second floor.

"Mr. Williams, do you need a snack tonight?" another servant asked as he passed by.

Kenna smiled and waved his hand, "No, I don't eat at night. Actually, bring me that bottle of fine wine from my cellar."

The servant nodded and headed to the wine cellar. Before long, he returned with a bottle of vintage red wine.

Kenna took the wine and went back to his room.

In Kenna's room, there was a table with a photo of a woman on it. She looked a lot like Michael, suggesting she was Michael's mother.

On the table were also several burning candles, a bouquet of flowers, some sugar skulls, and her favorite foods. Kenna lit an incense stick and placed it in front of the photo. The smoke curled up into the room, carrying a faint, pleasant scent.

This was his way of remembering his late wife, Audrey Carroll. He believed that even though she was no longer with them, her spirit still watched over them.

Death wasn't the end; the souls of the deceased would bless their living relatives, bringing them good fortune.

Although Kenna didn't expect Audrey to bring him good fortune, he hoped she would be waiting for him in the other world.

When the incense had burned out, Kenna sat at the table, looking at Audrey's photo and said with a smile, "Audrey, when I passed by Michael and Isabella's room tonight, I heard some noises inside. I guess they were trying to have a baby. I know it's wrong to eavesdrop, but I swear it wasn't intentional!"

A bitter smile appeared on Kenna's lips, as if he could hear Audrey scolding him.

"All these years, the only thing keeping me going was seeing Michael get married and have a kid. Once we have a grandchild, I'll raise 'em, then I'll just wait peacefully for my time to join you," Kenna said, tears streaming down his face.

"I feel like the day I become a grandfather is not far away! Such a happy day deserves a celebration." Kenna opened a bottle of his cherished wine and poured it into two glasses.

The rich aroma of the wine filled the room.

Kenna picked up one of the glasses and downed it in one gulp. Then he took the other glass and poured the wine in front of the sugar skulls on the table, symbolizing sharing the moment with Audrey.

Tears welled up in Kenna's eyes as he stared blankly at the photo, holding the glass. He murmured softly, as if speaking intimately with Audrey.

The next day, Isabella didn't stick around the villa. She missed the two kangaroos, so Michael took her to Austin's hunting ground.

The hunting ground was just like they remembered. When Isabella and Michael arrived outside the enclosure, Optimus Prime and Megatron were at it again.

The two kangaroos were going at it fiercely, kicking each other with their powerful legs.

Isabella cheered them on, even though she couldn't tell them apart. It didn't matter; she just wanted to root for them.

Michael, watching the two kangaroos, suddenly thought of bullfighting. However, in this scenario, there were no matadors, but rather two furious bulls. No one knew who would win, but it was definitely a display of raw, violent beauty.

Meanwhile, back at the villa, shortly after Isabella and Michael left the room, the maid came in to clean up.

There was an annoying suitcase in the room. The maid wanted to move it to a fixed spot before cleaning, but it suddenly fell to the ground, and a bag of white powder spilled out.

The maid was stunned to see the bag of white powder. She instinctively reached out to pick it up but stopped midway.

"This can't be what I think it is, can it? How on earth did Mr. Williams and Mrs. Williams end up with this?" Her expression turned very serious, and she quickly ran downstairs to inform Kenna.

Scarlett was at home, plotting her next move, when she suddenly got a call from Lyanna.

"What did you say? The maid at Michael's house found a package of drugs while cleaning the room! Is this true? Oh my God, this is fantastic! Mom, wait for me. I'm coming over right now." Scarlett hung up the phone, her face lighting up with excitement.

Scarlett had originally planned to bribe a maid to pretend to find drugs, but she hadn't even put her plan into action before they were discovered.

Lyanna had intended to talk to Kenna about a new business plan but unexpectedly witnessed this drama.

Scarlett joyfully drove to Michael's villa, eager to see Isabella's reaction.

Meanwhile, Michael and Isabella were at the hunting ground, watching the two kangaroos fight. Suddenly, Michael got a call from Kenna.

"Is Isabella with you? Whatever you're doing, come home right now. I have something very serious to tell you." Kenna's voice was very grim.

"Got it, we'll head back now." Michael hung up the phone and looked at Isabella beside him.

"Let's go back. Looks like our prey has taken the bait." Michael's lips curled into a mocking smile.
