Chapter 362
The beginner ski slope was filled with the sound of someone screaming.
"Benjamin, help me! I'm gonna fall! This is way too fast, I can't control it!" Lila yelled, gripping her ski poles for dear life.
Benjamin's face darkened as he clenched his fists. He was so over helping Lila. He'd already helped her a bunch of times and even suggested she get a coach, but she refused and kept skiing like a maniac.
Amelia could sense Benjamin's frustration. Honestly, she was pretty annoyed too. If Benjamin wasn't so nice and bad at saying no, she would've started yelling by now.
"Who says Lila can't ski? Every time she falls, she lands right in Benjamin's arms. Is that what she calls not being able to ski?" Amelia muttered angrily, gripping her ski pole, wishing she could whack Lila with it.
Isabella and Michael stood nearby, sipping hot coffee, watching Lila fall into Benjamin's arms yet again.
Amelia couldn't help but complain when she saw Isabella and Michael just chilling. "Come on, we're the Anti-Lila Alliance! You can't leave me to deal with this alone!"
Isabella shrugged, "Amelia, why don't you go help Lila? If you teach her, you can keep her away from Benjamin. He's good at skiing, so we can hit the intermediate slope while you two stay here."
Michael nodded. "My wife's got a point."
Amelia blinked. "Then why don't you go help her, Isabella? That way, I can hang out with Benjamin and work on our relationship."
Isabella stayed quiet, and Michael quickly pulled her into his arms, saying, "Why do you need to build a relationship? Don't we, as a couple, need to work on ours too?"
Amelia rolled her eyes and walked towards Benjamin and Lila.
Isabella and Michael watched her go.
Michael looked at Isabella curiously and asked, "Are you sure about this?"
Isabella nodded. "Benjamin's too nice. Someone who can't say no and is afraid of hurting others isn't gonna last long in this world."
Actually, Isabella and Michael had a plan. They wanted Benjamin to see Lila's true colors, make him reject her, and stop her from clinging to them.
"Are you sure your plan will work? Will Lila really do that?" Michael asked, curious.
Earlier, when Michael and Isabella were chatting, Isabella suggested a plan: let Amelia teach Lila to ski, Lila would fake an injury, then blame Amelia, saying she didn't teach her well, and maybe even accuse her of pushing her.
Isabella nodded, smiling at Michael. "What's wrong? Don't you trust my instincts? Wanna bet on it?"
Michael grinned. "You're so sure of yourself. As your husband, I gotta believe you."
Isabella gave him a playful glare. "That's no fun! Say you don't believe me, and then we can make a bet."
Michael's lips twitched, smiling helplessly at her antics.
"Alright, fine. I don't believe you. Let's bet, say, $100?" Michael suggested.
Isabella nodded. "Deal, $100 it is."
For them, $100 was pocket change. This was just a fun game between them, and neither cared about the amount.
Meanwhile, Amelia had already suggested to Benjamin that she teach Lila how to ski.
Benjamin was hesitant, but Amelia was determined.
Lila seemed to catch on. At first, she looked a bit annoyed at Amelia's suggestion, but then she nodded.
"Benjamin, you go enjoy the other slopes. I know you love this sport, and I've been holding you back. I think Ms. Martinez will be a great teacher." Lila smiled at Amelia.
Lila's smile seemed fine, but Amelia had a bad feeling.
"Alright, I'll head to the other slopes. Dear, take care of Lila," Benjamin said and took off.
"Ms. Donovan, come with me. I'll teach you how to brake first." Amelia led Lila to the edge of the slope, where it was less crowded.
"Okay, Ms. Martinez." Lila smiled mischievously behind Amelia's back.
After leaving the beginner slope, Benjamin was planning to hit the intermediate or advanced slopes, but he ran into Michael and Isabella.
"Aren't you two skiing?" Benjamin asked with a smile.
Isabella shook her head. "Skiing's not as fun as watching a show!"
Benjamin was taken aback and looked around in surprise. "What show?"
Michael said casually, "The drama of the current and former fighting over a guy."
Benjamin quickly caught on.
He glared at them in annoyance. "If you're bored, go ski instead of watching a show. Those girls get along fine."
"Are you sure about that? How about we make a bet?" Isabella smirked.
Benjamin looked at her warily. "What do you want to bet on?"
"Let's bet on the latest fashion item." Isabella smiled and explained their bet.
"You bet $100, and it turns into a luxury item with you? Well, I don't think Lila would do something like that anyway." Benjamin shrugged, not caring about the bet since he could afford those luxury items.
Just as Benjamin agreed to Isabella's bet, a scream came from the beginner slope.
"Oh my god, I think my leg is broken! Can someone help me?" It was Lila's voice.
