Chapter 313

John had a hunch that the three big families were stirring the pot to ramp up the tension between him and Mason. But Michael wasn't buying it.

"The three families have always thought the Taylor Family's got some secret recipe to revive the family business. No way they'd let Bianca get her hands on it to boost the Williams Family. And Isabella? She's the last person that would team with us. They should be protecting her, not going after her," Michael said, cool as a cucumber.

John scoffed, "Our family's been helping Isabella for ages. Why wouldn't she work with us?"

"Get real, it was your grandpa who helped her, not you. Remember what you did to her? It's not like you can forget," Michael shot back, giving John a cold stare.

John squirmed under Michael's gaze.

Mason frowned. "What are you two on about? Is there something I don't know?"

Mason glared at both of them, clearly annoyed.

Michael caught the pleading look in John's eyes and smirked, "I'm talking about John blowing off Isabella for eight years and ditching their engagement to be with her sister. Women don't take betrayal lightly. Isabella must find John repulsive, that's all."

John was pissed but kept his mouth shut. He didn't dare tell Mason about the time he almost took Isabella's kidney.

Mason might blow a gasket and end up back in the hospital.

"Got it, that makes sense." Mason glared at John and tapped his cane.

"Alright, Michael, you handle the Isabella situation. Make sure no one messing with her gets away with it," Mason ordered.

Michael nodded.

After leaving the Williams Villa, John headed back to his vineyard.

Bianca had a meal ready and was hanging up his clothes.

"What's up? You look stressed," Bianca asked softly.

John hesitated, then sat down at the table, looking at Bianca's sweet face.

"Did you see the news? Isabella was almost killed. She got attacked, and her driver was seriously hurt and taken to the hospital," John said casually.

Bianca feigned shock. "Isabella got hurt? Is she okay? Should we go see her at the hospital?"

John studied Bianca's face but saw nothing out of the ordinary.

He had no idea Bianca was a pretty good actress. Plus, he was too smitten with her to think straight.

John was convinced Bianca had nothing to do with it, so he relaxed and said, "The cops caught the attackers, and they led to a bunch of arrests at the Taylor Group. Someone said they were put up to it. My grandpa and Michael think it might be you."

'Idiots!' Bianca cursed silently in her heart.

On the surface, Bianca's face went pale. "Mason and Michael suspect me? Why? Oh, if Isabella dies, I'd be the biggest beneficiary. I guess I do have a strong motive."

She started to cry, walked over to John, and held his hand. "It's not me, you have to believe me. I couldn't do something so stupid. If anything happens, everyone will suspect me. Maybe someone's trying to frame me or target your family?"

Bianca quickly shifted the focus to the internal conflicts of the Williams Family.

"I don't know, but I already told my grandfather you wouldn't do something like this," John said, gently hugging her.

"Don't worry, as long as I'm here, no one can harm you," he said earnestly.

Bianca hugged him tightly, but there was a hint of resentment in her eyes.

'Damn Isabella, you escaped again. It's getting harder to kill you,' she thought.

The next morning, after a night's rest, Isabella showed up at the company. Reporters were already swarming downstairs.

Isabella looked at them without any nervousness or surprise. She knew these vultures would definitely come for her after what happened yesterday.

Soon, they surrounded her, firing off questions about the previous day's events.

"Isabella, it's said this incident happened because you were going to fire a group of employees. What do you say about this?"

"Isabella, after such an incident, will you still continue with the original standards?"

"Isabella, do you suspect this incident is related to Bianca?"

Isabella looked at the reporters and said calmly, "Justice will never bow to evil. Those fools tried to assassinate me because they fear the truth. I'll dig deeper and kick out the rotten apples in the company. Their moves just fuel my fire. As for whether it's related to Bianca, I can only say trust the police and let them investigate."

After speaking, Isabella went back into the company.

On her way to the office, many employees greeted her, feeling lighter after she cleared out the bad apples.

Isabella smiled and responded to them. When she arrived at her office, Carol was already waiting for her.

"You told me before that you were on the brink of death many times. I didn't quite believe it, but now I do. There are indeed many people who want to kill you," Carol said emotionally.

Isabella smiled, "Such things might happen in the future. If there's nothing urgent, try not to get too close to me, or misfortune might come your way."

Carol nodded. "You're right, I don't want to die so soon. Here are the documents you wanted."

She placed the prepared documents in front of Isabella.

Isabella opened the folder and looked through it for a while, nodding in satisfaction. "I've investigated this before, and your lists match mine. Looks like you're up for the task, no problem."
