Chapter 289

Isabella watched Bianca walk away, not bothering to stop her.

Once all the top execs finished going over the contracts and confirmed Isabella's new status, they were all just waiting for her next move.

With a casual wave, Isabella told them to sit, and they all did, quietly. Then she took her seat and got ready to lay down her first order.

"Now that I'm the company's second-largest shareholder, and with my dad in a coma and his embezzlement messing up the company's operations, I can strip him of all his management rights according to the board's rules! In the next few days, I'll be rolling out a series of reforms and making some new personnel appointments." She stood up, hands on the table, and looked around the room.

Her gaze was cold and firm as she scanned the senior execs.

"Who's with me? Who's against?" Her voice rang out, clear and strong.

The execs exchanged nervous glances. Isabella's presence was intense.

If Jerry were here, he'd be floored. Isabella's vibe was just like Michael's.

Breaking the silence, Carol stood up, nodding at Isabella. "I'm ready to follow Ms. Taylor's orders."

With Carol leading the way, the others snapped out of their shock, stood up, and pledged their support to Isabella.

Isabella was pleased with their reaction. She motioned for them to sit back down.

"Since no one's opposing, starting tomorrow, I'll be working here. Please submit all current reports to me. The company's reform starts now." And with that, she wrapped up the meeting.

After the meeting, the execs looked at each other, some wiping sweat from their brows.

"How did we never see this side of Isabella before?" one exec asked, puzzled.

Someone seemed to get it and said seriously, "Love can mess with a woman's head! Now that Isabella's over John, she's sharp again! As an heiress to a big family, she's got to have some skills. Men just held her back."

The others nodded, agreeing with the theory.

But while Isabella was holding her meeting, an unseen storm was brewing.

Meanwhile, at the hospital, in Jasper's room.

Jasper lay on the bed. His fingers twitched slightly, and his eyelids fluttered.

From confusion to slowly waking up, Jasper realized where he was.

His eyes shifted to the two cops outside the room. They were chatting and didn't notice he was awake.

After the meeting, Isabella rushed back to her workplace.

When Isabella got to the office, she exchanged quick hellos with her colleagues and headed straight to Dwayne's office.

Dwayne looked surprised when she walked in. "Hey, Isabella! You look pretty happy. Something good happen?"

Isabella smiled politely. "Mr. Larson, I just wanted to thank you for all your help since I joined the company."

Dwayne looked puzzled. "Why are you saying this all of a sudden? Wait, you're not quitting, are you?"

He suddenly remembered their initial agreement.

Seeing Isabella nod, he asked in shock, "Did you get your dad's shares?"

Isabella nodded, then shook her head.

Dwayne was confused.

Isabella explained with a smile, "Well, I got some of them. My dad secretly split the shares and sold some off. I managed to get the shares from those small shareholders. Now, I'm the company's second-largest shareholder! Even though I don't have as many shares as my dad, he's in a coma and has been stripped of his rights, so I'm in charge now."

Dwayne took a deep breath, not expecting Isabella to pull this off.

"I have to admit, I never thought you stood a chance against John. Looks like I underestimated you," Dwayne said with a rueful smile.

Isabella handed him her resignation letter.

"Thanks again for everything. By the way, I'm planning a small party before I leave and I'd love to invite our department colleagues. Mr. Larson, it would be great if you could come," she said, her smile bright with the promise of new beginnings.

Dwayne hesitated, then nodded. "Alright, I'll be there. I hope I don't make the employees uncomfortable."

After inviting Dwayne, Isabella happily went back to her office.

As soon as she left, Dwayne called Michael.

"Mr. Williams, Isabella has resigned. She's now the second-largest shareholder in her family. She also invited me to her resignation party tonight," Dwayne said with a wry smile, filling Michael in.

Michael's reaction was calm. "I know. Since she invited you, you should go. You don't need to worry about her anymore."

Dwayne was momentarily stunned but figured Michael, with his strong connections, must have already known about Isabella's new status.

"Got it, Mr. Williams. By the way, do you have any plans for the director position after Isabella leaves?" Dwayne asked.

"You handle it. I trust your judgment," Michael replied decisively before hanging up.

Back in her office, Isabella started packing up her things. As she was tidying up, she noticed Juliet watching her, eyes red with emotion.

Isabella looked at her, confused. "Why are you crying? Did someone bully you again?"

Juliet shook her head, tears streaming down her face. "Ms. Taylor, I heard you're resigning. Is it true? I can't bear to see you go. You're the best leader I've ever had."
