Chapter 195

Michael's breath hitched when he heard Isabella's words, and his mind went straight to the gutter. He could feel the blood rushing south, making things... complicated.

Taking a deep breath, Michael tried to get a grip on himself.

'Damn it! The doc said I can only get busy once a week. It's only day two! Gotta hold it together!' he kept reminding himself.

Isabella didn't hear Michael's response, but she seemed to know exactly what was going on in his head. She teased, "Are you imagining it? How about we give it a go when you get home tonight?"

"Let's hold off a bit, babe. You know those meds I got are pricey. I need to finish them all before... No, wait, I don't need to finish them all. Next week, okay? Just one more week, please!" Michael said, covering his face in embarrassment.

Isabella's laughter rang through the phone.

"Alright, darling, I can wait! It's for your health! I have some stuff to do, so I'll hang up now," Isabella said and ended the call.

Michael looked at his phone and let out a deep sigh.

He suddenly felt someone watching him. Turning around, he saw Jerry.

Jerry looked awkward and gave a nervous smile. "Mr. Williams, I'm here to remind you about the meeting."

Michael's expression turned icy, and he became all business. "What did you hear just now?"

Jerry shook his head frantically. "Mr. Williams, I didn't hear anything. I came in right after you finished the call."

Jerry explained anxiously, not wanting to get into trouble. Michael stared him down, saying nothing. It wasn't until Jerry felt sweat trickling down his back, soaking through his shirt, that Michael finally looked away.

"It's fine if you heard. Just keep it to yourself," Michael said with a smile.

Jerry wasn't buying it and kept shaking his head. "Mr. Williams, I really didn't hear anything. The meeting's about to start, and everyone's waiting for you."

Michael patted Jerry's shoulder, satisfied. "Got it. Let's go."

Jerry followed Michael respectfully, but his mind was elsewhere.

'Seems Mr. Williams is having trouble in the bedroom. That's gotta hurt his pride. Should I find some meds for him?' Jerry wondered.

Meanwhile, after wrapping up her work, Isabella left the office. She had taken a half-day off from Dwayne to visit Jasper.

Leo was already waiting downstairs. Once Isabella got in the car, he started driving toward the detention center.

Leo glanced in the rearview mirror and quickly realized they had a tail. He wasn't sure if it was reporters or someone from the four families.

Isabella noticed Leo's frequent mirror checks and asked, "What's up, Leo? Something off?"

Leo nodded. "Yeah, Ms. Taylor. We're being followed, probably by reporters. Buckle up. I'm gonna try to lose them."

Isabella quickly fastened her seatbelt and grabbed the handle. Leo floored it, and the car took off.

Isabella peeked through the rear windshield and saw the cars behind them speeding up too. But Leo knew the roads like the back of his hand and managed to shake them off pretty quickly.

"Leo, what did you do before this?" Isabella asked, curious.

Leo had his answer ready. "I used to be a bodyguard for a rich guy. Took a bullet for him once and got pretty messed up. My family thought it was too dangerous, so I switched to driving. Didn't think my old skills would come in handy again."

"Thanks, Leo," Isabella said sincerely, grateful for his help in losing their tail.

Isabella made a mental note to ask Dwayne about giving Leo a raise. She'd been followed lately, which meant a lot more work for Leo.

Soon, Leo pulled up at the detention center. Isabella had arranged a private meeting with Jasper.

Inside, she found Jasper in a uniform and handcuffs, sitting at a table.

She sat down across from him.

Jasper sneered, "Happy now? Must be a thrill seeing me in here."

Isabella didn't react to his taunts. "You know who really crossed the line between us."

Jasper sneered again, leaning back and tilting his head. "So, you came here just to gloat?"

He spread his hands. "If so, congrats. It's safe here, but the food sucks, and the uniforms are awful. I miss my wine collection. Guess I'll have to wait a few days to enjoy it again."

Isabella, unfazed by Jasper's attitude, pulled a document from her bag and slid it over to him.

"This is why I came today. I hope you'll agree to this, Dad," Isabella said calmly.

Jasper picked up the document, curious.

After reading it, he smiled coldly. "You put me in this hellhole, and now you want me to hand over all the company shares? You're dreaming."
