Chapter 272
John had his doubts about Mike, and Mike was just as skeptical about John's promises.
John's talk of saving him if he got exposed? Pure bullshit.
Heirs from these big families rarely kept their promises, especially when they were made in casual conversation.
When Mike got back, he handed the contract to Michael and filled him in on every detail of his meeting with John.
"So, what's our next move, Mr. Williams?" Mike asked.
Michael leaned back in his chair, a faint smile playing on his lips. "We stick to the original plan. John's gonna call a meeting with the top execs from the three companies soon. Should be quite a show when he sees the video."
Just as Michael finished speaking, there was a knock on the office door. Jerry walked in, looking serious.
"Mr. Williams, we've got a situation. There are some issues with Jasper's three companies," Jerry said, handing a contract to Michael.
Michael took the contract, his eyes narrowing as he skimmed through it. "That sly old fox Jasper has outplayed everyone," he muttered with a cold chuckle.
From a business standpoint, Jasper was a fool, but when it came to stirring up trouble, he was a master. His underhanded tactics had certainly caused problems for everyone involved.
"Let's have our team dig into the backgrounds of these people. We've got new tasks ahead." Michael sighed, feeling a bit exasperated. Jasper had certainly stirred up some trouble, but with the right approach, these challenges could turn into opportunities.
John's bodyguard checked the fingerprints on the two documents, ensuring there were no traces of Michael's prints, and promptly arranged for a high-level meeting with the three companies under Jasper's control.
In the conference room, Bianca, dressed to the nines, sat next to John. The top executives from the three companies were seated around the table.
These executives were well aware of the ongoing power struggle between Isabella and Bianca over the shares. Seeing Bianca's confident smile, it was clear she had secured all the shares.
"Everyone, my uncle has been caught embezzling and is now unconscious. Clearly, he's no longer fit to manage the companies. He's transferred all his shares to me, so I'll be taking over these three companies." Bianca announced with a smile, addressing the executives.
The executives didn't immediately agree, instead, they exchanged quiet murmurs among themselves.
A man in a brown suit raised his hand, "Ms. Taylor, you mentioned Mr. Taylor transferred the shares to you. Do you have any proof?"
Bianca nodded eagerly. "Absolutely. Here's the share transfer agreement, signed and fingerprinted by my uncle."
She pulled out the two contracts, and the executives around the table started to look uneasy.
With a confident smile, Bianca shared more news. "I've also spoken with Mr. Williams. He's agreed to use his resources to help us expand operations, boost production, and improve our working conditions. With his support, I believe we can bring all our companies back to their former glory!" Her eyes scanned the room.
The execs breathed a collective sigh of relief. They'd been terrified when John pulled his investment-they thought they were all going to lose their jobs. Having him back felt unbelievable.
Yet, one person in the room remained unfazed.
Suddenly, the conference room door burst open, and Isabella strode in with her entourage.
"I heard there was a high-level meeting today. Why wasn't I informed?" The room fell silent, eyes wide with shock at her unexpected arrival.
Ignoring the stunned faces, Isabella confidently walked to the other end of the table and sat directly across from Bianca.
"Bianca, these executives couldn't reach me, fine. But why didn't you give me a heads-up?" Isabella teased with a sly grin.
Bianca's face darkened for a split second before she regained her cool. "I didn't reach out 'cause I didn't want you to embarrass yourself. I mean, I won this competition. Didn't want you to lose face too badly, so I kept quiet. But hey, if you wanna see me become the new chairperson, you're more than welcome."
Bianca clapped her hands with a smile, but only a few of the execs in the room joined in, leaving her feeling a bit awkward.
The executives, sharp and cautious, sensed the changing power dynamics. Bianca had John backing her, but Isabella had Mason in her corner.
Even though it looked like Bianca had snagged all the company shares, it didn't mean Isabella was someone to mess with.
Bianca's attempt to humiliate Isabella fell flat, which irked her. But she quickly brushed it off. After all, she now had Jasper's shares, and in her mind, Isabella was destined to lose.
"Isabella, why don't you quit your current job? Now that I'm the chairperson, we're making some changes and could use some help. You should come help me out," Bianca said with a smile.
Isabella knew this was just another one of Bianca's schemes to humiliate her. Those companies were supposed to be hers. Bianca's offer was a public declaration of her supposed failure.
"Bianca, let me give you some advice. Your cheap tricks might work on regular folks, but they won't fly in the business world. You're just not cut out for it." Isabella lifted her chin, her eyes gleaming with a mix of mockery and disdain.
Bianca could see the strong sarcasm and contempt in Isabella's eyes, which made her furious.
"Isabella, let's be real. Time will tell if I'm cut out for business. And with John's help, I believe I won't do any worse than your father." Bianca's tone was icy.
Isabella glanced at John. He was totally ignoring her, showing her no respect whatsoever.
"No way am I letting John stick his nose into those three companies. They belong to my grandfather and the Taylor Family!" Isabella declared with unwavering determination.
