Chapter 324

Hadley never saw it coming that there were actually four of the so-calledd scavengers.

Each of these four guys reached out to the big families, showing them the same photo.

"Awesome, only we know this. The other families are in the dark. The Taylor Family's secret is ours!" Jay, usually the calm one, was visibly pumped by the thought of such a huge advantage. He knew he had to act fast.

Jay waved his hand and headed to the abandoned factory with his crew.

The same thing was happening with the other two guys.

But the scavengers showed up in a certain order, making sure they didn't all leave at the same time and bump into each other on the way, avoiding any awkward run-ins.

Meanwhile, Tim's crew let him know the scavengers had done their job.

Tim had set it all up to stir up trouble among the families.

"Everyone's ready, now we just sit back and watch the show." Tim grinned coldly, eager to see the families go at it.

Tim and his gang waited patiently in the woods outside the chemical plant. Finally, the first car rolled up.

It was Hadley.

Hadley parked behind the warehouse like the scavenger had told her. They all jumped out and rushed into the factory.

As soon as Hadley got out of the car, she was hit by a nasty stench. If it wasn't for catching Jasper, she wouldn't have come to this gross place.

When Hadley got to the door, she stopped and told her crew, "Find Jasper, remember to catch him alive and bring him to me."

Then she gagged and quickly got back in the car to turn on the air circulation.

Glad to be away from the stink, Hadley felt bad for her crew who had to find Jasper.

Meanwhile, Jasper was chilling in a secret room, startled by the sound of a car engine outside.

Holding a gun, Jasper guarded the door, worried that if they found him, he and his gold would be toast.

"Damn, how did they find this place? Are they from the four big families or just some gangs?" Jasper muttered.

Hadley's crew searched the warehouse but couldn't find Jasper.

One guy, covering his nose, came back to Hadley and reported what he found.

Frowning, Hadley said, "You're telling me Jasper's not in there? How is that possible? Are you sure there's no secret room?"

Just as the subordinate was about to shake his head, Hadley heard the roar of another car.

Her face darkened when she saw Jay pulling up.

Jay parked and got out with his crew, his expression souring when he saw Hadley.

"What are you doing here?" they both asked at the same time.

"Did you plant a mole in my crew?" they echoed again.

After speaking in unison, they realized the awkwardness but quickly pieced together the situation.

"Is Jasper in this warehouse? Don't lie to me, someone saw him here," Jay demanded.

Hadley sneered, "If I tell you Jasper's not inside, would you believe me?"

Jay didn't buy it. He signaled his men to search the warehouse. Like Hadley's crew, they found nothing.

Jay furrowed his brows, frustrated.

Just then, a third car sped up. This time, Tanner jumped out.

The hot-headed Tanner immediately raised his gun at Jay and Hadley as soon as he got out.

"Did you two bastards plant a mole in my crew? Why are you here before me?" Tanner demanded angrily.

Jay frowned while Hadley waved her hand.

All of Hadley's crew raised their guns, aiming at Tanner.

"Enough, Hadley, and you, Tanner, cut it out. Something's off. I swear I didn't plant a mole in any of your crews." Jay walked over, pushed Tanner's hand away, and waved to Hadley. Her crew lowered their guns.

Tanner glared at Jay and asked, "Then tell me, how did you know about this place? I'm the only one who knows about it."

Jay realized something was wrong. He quickly asked, "How did you find this place? I'll go first, I heard it from a scavenger."

Hadley was stunned. "I heard it from a scavenger too."

Tanner also sensed something was off. "Could it be we met the same scavenger?"

Jay's brows furrowed tightly, and he immediately called his crew to investigate the scavenger, only to be told that the scavenger had just escaped.

Jay's face darkened, and Hadley and Tanner weren't in a good mood either. They didn't need to make a call to know their scavengers had also escaped.

"This is a trap set for us, but by who?" Hadley pondered aloud.

Tanner growled, "It must be the Williams Family! Last time, we had many gang members, but now it's just the family's hitmen with us. Peter's trying to throw us off."

Jay shook his head. "If Peter were that behind this, he'd ambush and kill us here. Without us, the gang members wouldn't be a threat."
