Chapter 333
After Isabella finished talking, the execs looked like they'd just swallowed a lemon.
If what Isabella said was true, then Jasper must have been in her hands by now. As long as Jasper said that the money John had wasn't embezzled public funds, then John and Bianca were gonna be the laughingstock today.
John's face turned dark as a storm cloud. He clenched his fists so tight his knuckles went white, glaring at Isabella like he wanted to tear her apart.
Today, John lied to Isabella for the first time. If this lie got exposed, he would lose all his credibility.
"No way, I don't believe my people would lie to me. What proof do you have that your dad's in the hospital?" John gritted his teeth and asked Isabella.
Isabella coldly clapped her hands and called towards the door, "Officer Pena, could you come in, please?"
All eyes turned to the big door. It swung open, and in walked Brenda, decked out in her police uniform.
Brenda's gaze swept around the room, ignoring John's dark look and Bianca's pale face. She said seriously, "I'm here today on behalf of the police department to award Isabella a medal and to back up her story."
Brenda held up a medal and smiled at everyone in the room, saying, "The police department really appreciates Isabella for spending a lot of money to bring back Jasper, a wanted criminal, from abroad. The chief sent me to thank her and clear up the rumors about Jasper's death."
After Brenda finished, she pulled out her tablet and played a video.
The video showed Jasper lying in a hospital bed. He looked a bit pale, but he was definitely breathing.
"This is a video call between me and my colleague, who's now watching over Jasper in the hospital. We believe there's no way he's getting away this time." Brenda finished and turned off her tablet, looking at the senior execs.
Isabella looked at John and Bianca, smiling, "Didn't you say my dad told you about the hidden public funds before he died? Well, guess what? He's still alive."
Bianca's face went even paler.
Isabella glanced at the senior execs who had just backed Bianca. Some of them looked down, while others still clung to hope.
"Mr. Williams just got your dad's situation wrong. Even so, it doesn't prove that the money in Ms. Taylor's hands isn't the public funds your father hid!" Some senior execs still argued, trying to defend John.
But just then, someone in a bank uniform walked in.
John's face changed when he saw the newcomer.
"Mr. Claire, please share your information," Isabella said to the newcomer, Paul Claire, with a smile.
Paul nodded, holding a laptop.
"Just yesterday, a sum of money went missing from Mr. Williams' account. It was transferred through multiple foreign banks and ended up in Ms. Taylor's account. Here are the transfer records we investigated and testimonies from other banks." Paul opened the laptop and showed the evidence he had.
Everyone in the room was stunned to see Paul daring to cross John. John's face twisted with anger and a touch of bitterness.
"Did my grandfather send you here?" John asked Paul.
John knew Paul; he worked at the Williams Family bank and was one of Mason's most trusted people.
Paul nodded and said calmly, "Mr. Mason Williams said that you, Mr. John Williams, have broken the terms of your agreement. He's very disappointed in you."
John slumped in his chair, his whole plan falling apart.
Bianca looked from the defeated John to Isabella.
"Even so, have you really won?" Bianca pointed at Isabella, her eyes flashing with hatred.
Isabella's face twisted into a mocking smile. "Don't you feel like you've lost now?"
Bianca glared at Isabella coldly. "Your company has taken huge financial hits. Without that embezzled money, it's on the brink of bankruptcy. Look at your father's condition; he probably won't wake up. Even if he does, would he really be willing to hand over the money to you?"
Some of the senior execs started to look serious, realizing the company's dire situation. Even though Isabella had removed a bunch of harmful people and confiscated their illegal gains, it didn't solve the company's current crisis because Jasper had embezzled the most money.
Carol looked at Isabella, trying to read her expression. But Isabella remained calm.
"Bianca, your biggest mistake was overestimating yourself and underestimating me. Do you really think I don't know where my father's hidden funds are?" Isabella's mouth curled into a cold smile.
"Officer Pena, are the things I asked for ready?" Isabella suddenly looked at Brenda and asked.
Brenda nodded. "We've identified everything, and all the evidence is now downstairs in your company."
Isabella waved to the people in the conference room. "Now, everyone, look out the window and witness something shocking."
The execs, confused, went to the window. When they saw the six cars parked below, they were all stunned.
In the sunlight, six cars emitting a golden glow were parked under the company building, surrounded by police officers.
"Are those cars made of gold?" Carol was also shocked by the scene below. She had guessed that Isabella might have Jasper's embezzled money, but she didn't expect it to be presented this way. It was truly shocking.
After seeing the golden cars, Bianca's face turned pale. "How is this possible? Those cars must be fake."
Brenda calmly said, "Ms. Taylor, after our assessment, all these cars are made of gold. And we found a lot of Jasper's DNA inside the cars."
