Chapter 129

The next morning, Isabella was up early for work while Michael was still knocked out in bed. Last night had been wild, and it left him totally wiped. Even with his strong build, he couldn't keep up with Isabella's energy.

Blushing a bit, Isabella gently tucked the blanket around Michael and softly ran her hand over his waist. He had really outdone himself last night, making her super happy. But she knew they couldn't go that hard all the time-it could take a toll on Michael's health.

After getting ready, Isabella left the villa, and Leo was already waiting for her outside.

"Isabella, you're looking fantastic today," Leo said with a grin.

Isabella's cheeks turned a little pink; she did feel fantastic. Last night was incredible.

"Maybe it's because I got a good night's sleep," Isabella smiled and hopped into the car.

After Leo dropped her off at the company, his face turned serious. He noticed a car parked nearby, clearly there to keep an eye on Isabella.

Leo got out and hid in a corner, watching closely. He saw the driver pull out a camera and snap a few shots of Isabella before driving off.

Leo quickly got back in his car and tailed them. He eventually saw the car stop in front of a detective agency.

Leo immediately called Michael.

"Mr. Williams, should I teach this guy a lesson so he stops following Mrs. Williams?" Leo asked over the phone.

Michael got out of bed, stretched, and said, "This is probably Paxton's doing. Don't worry about the detective agency; just keep an eye on them. Even if you rough him up, there are plenty of other agencies. Just monitor him."

Michael hung up and got out of bed to wash up, feeling a slight twinge in his waist.

He chuckled to himself. "Damn it, am I really getting old?"

As he rubbed his waist, his phone rang again, and the caller made him frown.

It was Mason.

Michael answered, and Mason's voice came through.

"Michael, you've been back for a while now. Why haven't you come to see me? Don't tell me you're avoiding this old man?" Mason joked.

Michael laughed and replied, "No way, Mason. I've just been swamped lately, so I haven't had the chance to visit."

They chatted about work for a bit, then Mason asked, "I wanted to ask you yesterday, but got sidetracked by John's issue. Didn't you say you were going to bring your wife to see me? When can I meet her?"

Michael's smile faded, and he paused for a couple of seconds before replying, "Sure, tomorrow. She's still abroad and will be back tomorrow."

"Great, remember to come to the Williams Villa for dinner tomorrow," Mason said with a smile and hung up.

Michael's expression turned serious. He thought for a moment, then called Jerry. "Go to an international talent agency and find an unknown but beautiful actress. She needs to be a good actress and pretend to be my wife. Make it quick; I need her by tomorrow."

Jerry instinctively agreed but quickly realized something was off. Just as he was about to ask for more details, the call had already ended.

He looked at his phone and chuckled wryly. "Yesterday you had me break John's leg, and today you want me to find you a wife abroad. Does Isabella know about this?" Jerry muttered to himself, then quickly arranged for a private jet to fly out. Since Michael had given him this task, he had to get it done.

Jerry could pretty much guess why Michael needed a fake wife: he was probably meeting Mason.

Meanwhile, Isabella had no clue what Michael was up to. When she got to the office, she noticed her colleagues were unusually friendly.

Isabella figured it was probably because of the phones she handed out yesterday. She responded politely to their greetings.

But when she walked past Madeline, Madeline didn't even look up. Since Isabella and Dwayne had spread the news of her apology around the office, Madeline felt like everyone was mocking her, making her super embarrassed.

Isabella got to work in her office. An hour later, when she called Juliet to deliver a document, she noticed a red handprint on Juliet's face and tears in her eyes, like she had just been crying.

Isabella's expression changed immediately. She frowned and asked, "What happened to your face? Who hit you?"

Juliet bit her lip and finally decided to spill. Her voice was choked with emotion as she said, "There was a document that needed to be delivered to Madeline today. When I handed it to her, I accidentally bumped into her, and she spilled her coffee. Her assistant slapped me."

"Come with me," Isabella said, standing up and leading Juliet out of the office.

"Ms. Taylor, where are we going? Are we going to confront Madeline? Maybe we should just let it go. Her clothes cost way more than I can afford, so let's call it even," Juliet said anxiously behind Isabella.

"We're going to the security office to check the surveillance footage. Just because you splashed coffee on her clothes doesn't give her the right to slap you. I'll cover the cost of the outfit. Besides, you're my assistant. If someone hits you, it's like they're hitting me. This isn't just about you; it involves me too. I have to respond, or those people will get even more arrogant," Isabella said coldly as she led Juliet to the security office. At her request, the security guard pulled up the surveillance footage from the design department.

The footage confirmed Juliet's story. Isabella saved the video and then led Juliet back to the design department.
