Chapter 379

Isabella stopped for a second after hearing what John said. She couldn't think of any reason why John would be thanking her.

John handed the keys back to Isabella. "I appreciate you not telling my grandpa about what Bianca and I did. He's too old to handle that kind of news."

"So, is this car supposed to make up for it?" Isabella asked coldly. She had almost died on the operating table, and now a car was supposed to make it all better?

John shook his head, knowing a car wasn't enough. It couldn't make up for what Isabella had been through.

"The car is just a small thank you. So, what kind of compensation do you want?" John asked.

Without missing a beat, Isabella said, "Just like before, I want one of Bianca's kidneys!"

John's brows furrowed, and he immediately shook his head. "That's not happening. You must have heard by now. Bianca is pregnant. She's carrying my child."

"Then I don't need any compensation. Bianca almost killed me. No amount of money can erase the trauma in my heart." Isabella sneered and then walked away with the keys.

Since it was just a small token of gratitude, Isabella didn't refuse.

Isabella drove back to the company with Avery.

Once Isabella got to the company, Carol called her in.

Isabella walked into Carol's office with a smile and said, "Sometimes I feel like I'm your employee, not the CEO. What's up?"

Carol looked up and rolled her eyes. "Do you hear yourself? This company isn't my family's business. If it were, I wouldn't be as relaxed as you."

Carol handed a document to Isabella. "The celebrity who used to endorse our clothing line wants to end the contract. We need a new endorser."

Isabella opened the document and saw information about their clothing brand's philosophy and the reasons for the previous female celebrity's contract termination.

"She's quitting because she's having a baby and doesn't want to work or endorse anything?" Isabella looked at Carol, surprised.

Carol shrugged, "That's what she said. Since we don't have maternity items, it's normal for her not to endorse us. We need to shoot new ads regularly, which isn't ideal when pregnant."

Isabella set down the document and asked Carol, "Shouldn't you handle finding a new endorser? You have the authority to choose who will be the new celebrity endorser. So, why did you call me in? Is there another reason?"

Carol nodded and snapped her fingers. "You're indeed a smart CEO. I want you to sign Ms. Foster. She's very popular right now, not only starring in several big movies but also backed by a mysterious man. Her popularity can definitely boost our products."

As Carol spoke, Isabella understood. Carol wanted to leverage Isabella's relationship with John or maybe delegate to Mason to have Estella endorse their company. After all, they had such resources.

But Isabella shook her head. "I don't want to bother anyone from the Williams Family. And have you thought about the fact that Estella is close to Zoey?"

"Zoey?" Carol repeated, suddenly remembering that she was Paxton's wife.

"I really don't know about any connection between Estella and the Brown Family. Do they have any collaboration?" Carol asked, curious.

Isabella nodded, "I haven't seen their collaboration firsthand since I wasn't there when they signed the contract. But given their good relationship, they might be willing to endorse some products for the Brown Family. My relationship with the Browns isn't great, and I don't want to put Ms. Foster in a difficult position."

Isabella shrugged. She had a good impression of Estella, a gentle and kind woman. If Isabella asked Mason to have Estella endorse for them, it would put her in an awkward position between friends and family, which would be embarrassing.

Carol sighed, crossed her arms, and leaned on the desk. "So, what do we do now? This celebrity doesn't have any scandals at least. Finding a new one could take days, and I'll need to dig into their background for any dirt."

Lately, too many celebrities have been exposed for outrageous actions, like tax evasion, drug use, infidelity, or involvement in sensitive political topics. These could have a significant impact on our products.

Isabella patted Carol's shoulder with a smile. "It's okay, I believe you can do it! You'll definitely find the right person!"

Carol rolled her eyes, pushed Isabella's hand away, and sat back at her desk. "You can go back to your office and play. I need to get back to work."

Carol waved her hand dismissively and lowered her head to continue working on the documents. Isabella wasn't offended and left with a smile.

Meanwhile, across the ocean, Michael was already dealing with the company's affairs.

To Michael, the trouble caused by Ryan this time wasn't significant. He could easily handle it, but the only hassle was the time-consuming process of contacting those clients, which kept him away from Isabella.

"Have you found Ryan yet?" Michael asked Jerry.

Michael had just left a client's company, the third one he had visited. He was very annoyed by the trouble caused by Ryan.

Jerry smiled bitterly and shook his head. "I'm sorry, Mr. Williams, we still haven't found Ryan."

Michael nodded calmly, his expression unreadable.

Jerry hesitated and said, "Mr. Williams, it's suspicious how our client list got leaked this time. I suspect someone inside is working for Ryan, or maybe..."

Jerry trailed off.

Michael coldly finished his sentence, "You mean someone has betrayed me, right?"

Jerry nodded.
