Chapter 482
When Bianca asked her question, John felt like she was messing with him.
"Babe, this joke is so not funny. How did such a terrible script even get to me? If it wasn't for Estella's connections, I'd be ripping it to shreds right now," John said with a smirk.
The last time they were at the restaurant, John was dying to trash that movie about escaping Earth.
John remembered Estella saying that Michael didn't want to invest in the movie, which led to a fight and Estella had to find other investors.
"In some ways, Michael and I still have the same taste. I thought that movie was a total waste of money and would definitely flop. Just like how Michael married a useless woman," John continued to mock Estella's judgment.
Bianca wasn't bothered by John's teasing; she was more curious about why this movie had caught his eye.
John quickly grabbed his tablet and pulled up his email, where the director had sent him the script.
Handing the tablet to Bianca, John grinned and said, "Check this out, babe. The director is Vincent Woods, a big shot with tons of awards for his sci-fi movies. And the cast he's looking at is top-tier. Just their star power alone will bring in big bucks."
Bianca skimmed through the script, which was about dwindling human resources and finding a renewable energy source in space. Humans bring this energy back to Earth but end up being hunted by another cosmic species because it's their food source too.
Basically, humans are stealing. But to survive, the global government shifts the blame to ensure humanity's survival, sparking a war for dominance.
The movie's big draw is the clash with these alien civilizations. Humans build a massive cannon in the city, using Earth as its base, capable of blasting through the alien civilization's interstellar fortress!
Just from reading the script, Bianca could picture the epic scenes, especially with the director's notes on which A-list actors would play each character, including one of Bianca's favorite movie stars.
"This script is amazing, babe! I love it!" Bianca said excitedly, looking at John.
John hugged Bianca, gently stroking her belly, and said with a smile, "I'm planning to invest in an entertainment company soon. This movie will be our golden ticket! Our kid will inherit a huge entertainment empire."
Bianca's excitement soared. She believed that with John's skills, they could make it happen.
"You're amazing, babe, thank you," Bianca said, hugging John tightly and giving him a passionate kiss.
Feeling his heart race, John held back his desires to protect the baby in Bianca's belly.
"Sweetheart, once our baby is here, I can't wait to reconnect with you," John said, catching his breath.
Bianca nodded. "Honey, I've heard that even pregnant women can get back to being intimate after five or six months."
John hesitated but decided to play it safe.
"Let's hold off on that, darling. Your health and our baby come first," John said with a smile.
Bianca wasn't upset; she knew John's focus was on their unborn child, not just their physical relationship.
"Even if we can't be intimate, let me show you some love," Bianca said, wrapping her arms around John's neck, sitting on his lap, and showering him with kisses.
Meanwhile, Michael and Isabella arrived home from work, sharing a deep kiss as they walked in.
"Honey, we've finally got the production line up and running!" Isabella said, beaming at Michael.
Michael, already aware of the miraculous hair growth cream from Isabella, was thrilled that the production line was operational.
"That's awesome, honey. Your hard work has paid off," Michael said, holding Isabella close and gazing at her lovingly.
Just as Michael leaned in for another kiss, Isabella suddenly pulled away.
"What's wrong? Honey, what's going on?" Michael asked, confused.
Isabella tilted her head, crossed her arms, and looked at Michael. "Honey, didn't you say you were going to buy some cases of drinks to enter that hundred million-dollar lottery? I haven't seen any drinks arriving lately."
Michael scratched his head, feeling a bit embarrassed. "I ordered them online. Maybe there's a delay in delivery because of the high demand for drinks recently. They should be here today."
Remembering the recent rush for drinks, Isabella didn't question Michael's explanation.
"If we do win the million dollars, what would you do with it, honey?" Michael asked, hugging Isabella and grinning.
Isabella thought for a moment. "If we win, I think I'd invest in Ms. Foster's movie. Company funds have a specific purpose, but your lottery winnings are personal, not business funds."
Michael playfully tapped Isabella's nose. "Honey, what are you talking about? My money is yours too. I'm all in for your movie investment."
Isabella laughed, about to respond when she suddenly felt the ground shake.
"Is that an earthquake? Why is the ground shaking?" Isabella wondered, knowing they weren't in an earthquake-prone area.
"Maybe it's my drinks arriving? I heard there were quite a few," Michael joked, but then his expression turned serious.
"What's happening, honey?" Isabella followed Michael's gaze and saw a large truck slowly approaching their house.
"Are you Mr. Williams? Your drinks have been delivered. Please sign here," the driver called out, jumping out of the truck and knocking on the door.
