Chapter 184

Bianca listened intently to the advice given over the phone.

After hearing the entire plan, Bianca asked, puzzled, "Why do we have to regain control of the Taylor family? Isn't it already bankrupt? Jasper and Mia's control over those three failed companies is not worth it; we might as well start a new company."

The voice on the other end replied coldly, "Just do as I say. I suspect Jasper's father left something behind in the company. Jasper may be foolish, but he couldn't have blown through the family's cash that quickly. There must be a secret, and those missing assets are crucial for us."

Bianca frowned and agreed reluctantly.

While Bianca was contemplating how to manipulate John, Jasper and Mia were also devising a plan to escape their predicament.

"Heartless parents like you don't deserve to live in this world!"

"Jasper, Mia, you've shamed the whole idea of being parents!"

"You'll pay for what you've done!"

The crowd outside the hospital was not dispersing; instead, it was growing larger. They held various signs and angrily shouted at the hospital.

These people, who once insulted Isabella, were now directing even more anger at Jasper and Mia.

"What should we do now? Those people outside want us dead," Mia cried.

"Can you stop bothering me? I'm trying to think of a solution, and your crying is distracting me!" Jasper shouted irritably.

Mia, on the verge of a breakdown, no longer cared about Jasper's attitude. She angrily retorted, "I should never have trusted you! I told you Bianca was trouble, but you wouldn't listen! We've been played, you idiot! Where's your brain? You think you're so smart!"

Jasper stood up from the bed and slapped Mia hard. "Did you ever stop me when I was doing all this? Now you're trying to blame me?"

"How dare you hit me? I've been helping you all along, and you hit me? I even sold out my daughter for you!" Mia screamed, clawing at Jasper's face, and they started fighting.

"Isabella is my daughter too! Didn't you agree to this? What right do you have to say it's my fault?" Jasper shouted, swinging his fists at Mia.

As they fought, the ward door suddenly opened, and a doctor walked in.

The doctor frowned at the scene. "Stop. This is no time for fighting. I've checked you both; you're good to go. Get out of here now. Because of you two, the hospital's operations have been seriously disrupted!"

"No, doctor, you can't do this. If we go outside, the crowd will tear us apart," Mia pleaded, crying.

The doctor looked at the couple with disdain. He knew what they had done to their daughter, and his eyes showed clear contempt.

"This is a hospital, not a police station! That crowd's getting bigger, and they might storm the place. But they're not gonna mess with the cops. If you're scared, go get police protection," the doctor said and then turned to leave.

After the doctor left, Mia collapsed to the floor, feeling utterly helpless. She didn't know what to do; she didn't want to die. Jasper, however, had a contemplative look on his face.

Suddenly, he clapped his hands, looking excited. "That's it! We can call the police! They can protect us."

Mia looked at Jasper as if he were an idiot. "Even if the police escort us out of the hospital, what about at home? Do you expect the police to protect us 24/7?"

A strange smile appeared on Jasper's face. "We can turn ourselves in! We defamed Isabella and damaged her reputation. They can arrest us!"

There was a hint of madness in Jasper's eyes. Mia took a step back, distancing herself from him.

"You must be crazy to come up with such an absurd plan!" Mia said, shaking her head.

However, Jasper sneered. "Have you forgotten about the money we hid in the bank? We need to survive first so we can get our hands on that money! Defamation and slander won't get us a long sentence. We'll just spend some time in jail, and by the time we get out, things will have calmed down. Then we can take the money and live abroad."

Mia hesitated. Jasper's plan started to make sense to her, so she nodded in agreement.

Jasper immediately dialed the police. Soon, a large group of officers arrived and escorted the couple out of the hospital.

As Jasper and Mia were led out in handcuffs, the furious crowd tried to rush forward but were held back by the police.

Jasper and Mia, terrified by the furious mob, shrank back and hid behind the officers.

"Stone these bastards! Send them to hell!" someone shouted, and objects were thrown at Jasper's face.

The crowd, taking this as a signal, began pelting Jasper and Mia with stones and food scraps.

The police, disgusted by the smell, quickened their pace, shoving the couple into a police car.

"Hurry up and drive! Damn it, if you wanted to surrender, why not just hail a cab?" one officer complained to Jasper and Mia.

But Jasper and Mia didn't dare respond.

The police car soon arrived at the station, and the plan was set in motion.

What Jasper and Mia didn't know was that as they were being taken from the hospital, the doctor who urged them to leave met Juniper in his office.

Juniper placed an envelope on the doctor's desk and patted his shoulder with a smile. "You did a great job!"

The doctor glanced at the envelope and shrugged indifferently. "It was an easy task, just suggesting they turn themselves in to the police. I wonder if Ms. Fox would like to have a drink with me tonight?"

Juniper licked her lips, eyeing the handsome doctor. "I'd love to, and perhaps you could give me a check-up too."
