Chapter 390
Locking down the design for the Olympic athletes' outfits would really put Isabella's company on the map and attract some serious investment.
But Isabella knew the competition was going to be cutthroat.
"Our design team isn't as strong as the others. You used to be a designer, right? I've seen your work, it's top-notch and practical. So, as CEO, this one's on you," Carol said, giving Isabella a supportive pat on the shoulder.
Isabella smirked. Carol sounded more like the CEO than she did.
"Alright, Ms. Lester, I'll nail this. If I don't, you can fire me," Isabella joked, rolling her eyes.
Carol laughed, "Well, I'm excited to see what you come up with, Ms. Taylor."
Isabella shook her head. She wasn't in the mood to celebrate with Carol. She was ready to head back to the office and brainstorm the Olympic designs.
Meanwhile, Bianca wrapped up the press conference and called a meeting.
Bianca sat down with her team of designers.
"Even though our company is new, you all know how crucial it is to land the Olympic clothing design," Bianca told them.
The designers nodded; they knew what was at stake.
"Get your sketches in ASAP. If the Olympic Committee picks our design, there will be a big reward!" Bianca said with a grin.
The designers' eyes lit up with excitement.
Bianca might not be a business expert, but she knew that good incentives and high expectations were key.
With John backing her, the designers were confident Bianca would deliver on her promise.
On another front, Estella left the press conference and went straight to meet the director. She told him about the billion dollars she had and her willingness to invest in a movie. The director was thrilled and immediately started planning the pre-production.
Michael got a call from Jerry.
"Mr. Williams, I spoke with Anson, and he's willing to be our mole. If Ryan contacts him, he'll find out where he is and let us know." Jerry paused. "Oh, and I had some top movie critics read the script you sent. They all think it has huge potential since people are getting tired of superhero flicks. This movie could be a big hit," Jerry reported.
Michael was surprised by how valuable Estella's script was. Investing in movies was always a gamble, but this one seemed like a safe bet.
"Jerry, you always keep it simple. Tell me, how can I get Isabella a big chunk of money without her getting suspicious?" Michael asked.
Jerry hesitated for a moment before answering, "The easiest way is a lottery ticket. But Isabella doesn't seem like the type to buy those. How about a QR code lucky draw?"
Michael's interest was piqued. "What's the plan? Fill me in."
Jerry got excited. "You know the movie 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory'? They had those golden tickets hidden in chocolate bars. We could do something similar with a QR code lucky draw through our food or beverage company, with a grand prize of a billion dollars! It'll attract a ton of people, and you can 'win' the big prize!"
Michael's eyes lit up. Jerry's idea was pretty clever.
"Perfect. I'll leave it to you. You can come up with the other prizes too. Just give me the creative ideas. Alright, I'm hanging up now," Michael said, ending the call.
Jerry was initially thrilled with his idea, as it fulfilled his childhood dream of finding a golden ticket. But when Michael dumped the task on him, Jerry was so mad he nearly jumped out of his chair.
"Another job for me? Damn it, when was the last time I had a vacation? I need a break!" Jerry yelled in frustration. After calming down, he sighed and started calling beverage companies to set things up.
Isabella was deep in thought about the Olympic clothing designs when Juliet burst into her office.
"Ms. Taylor, why are you still here? The photographer's waiting for you," Juliet said anxiously.
Isabella's train of thought was interrupted, and she frowned. She looked up at Juliet and asked, "What photographer?"
Juliet looked surprised. "Ms. Taylor, did you forget? You're supposed to do the company endorsement! Ms. Lester set it up herself. The photographer and crew are all here, just waiting for you to change and start shooting."
Isabella was taken aback. She had agreed to it yesterday, but she didn't expect Carol to move so fast!
Isabella rubbed her face with a wry smile. "Carol's efficiency never ceases to amaze me. Let's go meet the photographer."
Isabella and Juliet arrived at the shooting floor, where everything was already set up. The photographer, a man with long hair, looked quite elegant.
"Is this Ms. Taylor? Wow, you are stunning," the photographer greeted her politely.
Isabella smiled; he reminded her of the photographer who took her wedding photos.
"Sir, I have other work to do. Let's get this done quickly. What do I need to wear?" Isabella asked with a smile.
The photographer immediately had someone pick out her outfit.
All the clothes were designed and produced by Isabella's company.
After the shoot, Juliet handed Isabella a glass of water and said enviously, "Ms. Taylor, you are so beautiful! I wish I could be as pretty as you."
Isabella took a sip of water, smiled, and said to Juliet, "Then you can do the next endorsement!"
Juliet's eyes widened in shock.
