Chapter 435

Estella wandered around the hospital for a bit before finally tracking down Allan.

Allan was pretty surprised to see Estella. I mean, she was a big-time star now.

"Ms. Foster, what brings you here?" Allan asked, trying to be polite.

Estella got straight to the point, "I wanted to ask about Pearl."

Allan's eyes narrowed a bit. "Ms. Foster, even though Ms. Brown has passed away, we can't just share patient info with you."

Estella shook her head and put on her best sad face, "Doctor, you saw me with Mrs. Brown. You must know we're close friends. I'm heartbroken over what happened to her daughter. I may not be a mom, but I can imagine the pain of losing a child. I just want to know more about Ms. Brown's situation so I can help comfort my friend."

She looked at Allan with those pleading eyes.

Allan hesitated. Being stared at by a big star like that made him a bit flustered.

"Alright, since you're a friend of Mrs. Brown, I'll tell you a bit," Allan said, taking a deep breath to calm himself. Estella wasn't someone he wanted to cross.

"When you talk to Mrs. Brown, try not to bring up her husband too much. Mr. Brown's been awful, constantly grilling Ms. Brown about who caused her condition. I couldn't hear everything from outside the ward, but he must've mentioned a lot of names, which really stressed her out and made things worse," Allan sighed.

Estella's heart skipped a beat. She didn't expect Paxton to be behind this. He actually did that to Pearl.

"Thanks for telling me. I know how to comfort Mrs. Brown now. Don't worry, I won't tell anyone, especially not Paxton," Estella said sincerely.

Allan was touched. "Ms. Foster, you're really kind."

After talking to Estella, Allan felt a bit of regret. It seemed like she had him wrapped around her finger. If Paxton found out he spilled too much, he could be in trouble.

But Estella's promise reassured him. Someone like her had no reason to lie.

Estella left Allan's office, then the hospital, and got into her car.

Once in the car, she immediately called Jerry. She thought about reporting directly to Michael but decided it might be better to go through Jerry first.

"Mr. Nelson, here's the situation. Do you think this info will be useful to Mr. Williams?" Estella asked after filling Jerry in on everything she learned at the hospital.

Estella could hear Jerry take a deep breath on the other end of the line.

"Ms. Foster, you've done an excellent job. This news is crucial for Mr. Williams. You've made a significant contribution, and Mr. Williams will definitely reward you," Jerry said seriously.

Estella was momentarily taken aback, her mind racing with thoughts.

Jerry didn't linger on the call. After thanking Estella, he hung up.

Estella stared at the end call screen, feeling a bit shocked.

'Why did Jerry say this is so important to Michael? Is Paxton asking who harmed Pearl? Clearly, Paxton has some information, and if it's important to Michael, it means Michael is involved too. Could it be Michael?' Estella was startled by her own speculation.

She thought back to the first time she saw Michael, a man who seemed cold and imposing. Would such a strong man really do something so twisted?

Estella dared not think further. In this world, many people died, and one motive for murder was knowing too much. Sometimes, being a little ignorant, knowing less, and having less curiosity could actually save your life.

Estella took a deep breath, glanced at the hospital one last time, then turned the key and left. She was driving Zoey's car now and needed to drive it to the mall to exchange it for her own. She would leave Zoey's car keys with the store manager at a Brown Family store in the mall.

Meanwhile, after ending the call with Estella, Jerry called Michael.

After hearing Jerry's report, Michael jumped up from the sofa. "Damn, I didn't expect Paxton to go this crazy."

Michael's tone was very low, as if brewing a terrible storm.

Jerry asked, "Mr. Williams, is it possible that Paxton already knows that you are involved?"

Michael said in a low voice, "It's highly likely that he knows, whether as Michael or Isabella's husband. My wife is in danger now."

"Don't worry, Mr. Williams. Since Mrs. Williams was attacked last time, I have strengthened the security around her. Even if Paxton wants to harm Mrs. Williams, it won't be easy," Jerry said confidently.

However, Michael felt nervous, as if something terrible was about to happen.

"No, those forces are still too weak. Paxton has completely lost it now. I can't be sure if he will use more terrible weapons. I have to protect Isabella myself," Michael said, then hung up and called Isabella.

To Michael's surprise, Isabella's phone was unreachable. Michael felt a bit anxious and called Isabella's bodyguards. However, none of their phones were answered.

Carol was a bit stunned when she received Michael's call. Isabella's husband was calling her?

"What's the matter, sir?" Carol asked.

Michael didn't beat around the bush. "Why can't I reach Isabella? Where is she now?" he asked directly.
