Chapter 452
Not just the head of the Larson Family was thinking this way, but the leaders of the Davis Family and even John were on the same page.
The Taylor Family's takeover of the Brown Family's business was lightning fast, almost like it happened overnight. When the Taylor Family fell, these families scooped up a lot of their business, which now had them all on edge.
That night, the companies that used to belong to the Taylor Family but were now under the control of the three big families were all being investigated. People who used to work for the Taylor Family were getting the boot.
Some of the fired employees were pretty ticked off and even started protesting, but they were quickly shut down. With nowhere else to turn, they reached out to friends still in the Taylor Family's companies, hoping to get their old jobs back.
When Carol heard about this, she just smirked and had all the Taylor Family folks who got canned by the three big families brought back.
Among them were some top-notch talents, but the three big families, scared of spies, fired everyone without a second thought. Now, all these skilled people were back with the Taylor Family.
Carol kept smirking to herself because the reaction of the three big families was way over the top. When Patrick from the Taylor Family was plotting, he only had his sights set on the Brown Family.
Paxton never thought he'd be able to take over the Taylor Family's business so easily and become one of the big four families. In reality, it was all part of Patrick's plan, and his family had been secretly infiltrated by the Taylor Family.
Even though the three big families regretted losing these talents, they knew it was necessary to stop the same thing from happening to their own companies.
And all of this actually went down days ago.
Through Joe, Carol finally found out where Isabella and the others were in the hospital. She went there, met with Isabella, and filled her in on everything that had happened.
"So, all of this was set up by my grandpa, right?" Isabella sighed, fiddling with the bronze ring on her hand.
Carol nodded. "Yep, your grandpa arranged all of this. Even the Brown Family becoming one of the big four was his doing."
"Why did my grandpa do this?" Isabella asked, looking at Carol seriously.
Carol shook her head with a bitter smile. "I'm sorry, Ms. Taylor. I really don't know why your grandpa did this. But I think someone else might."
"Who?" Isabella asked, curious.
Carol shook her head again. "He's looking into some things. He said he can't meet with you yet, but he'll come see you once he figures it out in a few days."
"Is it a man? Okay, I'll wait for him," Isabella nodded, deciding not to dwell on it for now.
"Well, Ms. Taylor, if you have a moment, please come back to the company and help out. I'm drowning here. I gotta go," Carol sighed. Taking over the Taylor Family's business had blown up the industry's scale, making her workload skyrocket, especially with Isabella being MIA.
Carol shot Isabella a resentful glance, grabbed a few strands of her own hair, placed them in Isabella's hand, and left.
Isabella stared at the hair in her hand, totally confused about what Carol was trying to say.
Not long after Carol left, Benjamin showed up.
Seeing the hair in Isabella's hand, Benjamin asked, "What's up with the hair?"
Isabella explained what Carol had done.
Benjamin chuckled after thinking for a moment. "I think Carol's trying to tell you that if your husband's doing okay, you should get back to the company and help her out! Staying up late and working overtime with no sleep can make you lose hair."
Isabella was taken aback for a second, then shook her head with a wry smile. "That might not be possible. Michael's health isn't great right now. I want to stay here and take care of him for a few more days."
Benjamin looked at Isabella with a playful glint in his eyes.
Others might not know about Michael's condition, but as his doctor, Benjamin knew it all too well.
Given Michael's status, he was on the best and most expensive meds, which were top-notch for recovery and treatment. Plus, with Michael being in his prime, he didn't really need Isabella's care.
Michael lay in bed, occasionally coughing to get Isabella's sympathy and keep her by his side.
Standing at the door of the ward, Benjamin leaned against the door frame, watching Isabella feed Michael oatmeal spoon by spoon.
'What a sly guy,' Benjamin thought to himself about Michael's antics.
Suddenly, Benjamin noticed a bunch of medical staff running downstairs, some even shouting.
Frowning, Benjamin stopped a nurse and asked, "What's going on? Why's everyone running?"
The nurse replied, "Mr. Williams is here. He heard that Ms. Taylor and her husband are hospitalized here, so he came to visit. The hospital director asked us to go out and greet him. After all, Mr. Williams is one of the hospital's shareholders."
Hearing this, Benjamin's eyes widened. He didn't stop the nurse anymore and immediately ran into the ward.
Isabella was still feeding Michael.
Benjamin cleared his throat, and once he had Isabella's attention, he said calmly, "Isabella, Mason heard you were here and he's worried about you. He's outside right now. Do you want to see him?"
Isabella looked surprised, and Michael's eyes narrowed slightly.
"Mason's here? I have to see him. Honey, wait for me here," Isabella said, rushing out of the ward.
Michael looked at Benjamin seriously. "Mason really came?"
Benjamin nodded. "Seems like it. So, what's your next move?"
