Chapter 216
Odette's words hit like a bombshell, stirring up chaos in the room.
Everyone turned to Madeline, their faces full of shock.
Madeline's hands shook as she pointed at Odette, "Why are you doing this? Why are you betraying me?"
Odette shut her eyes, unable to face Madeline or answer her.
Isabella smirked, looking at Odette. "Odette, are you ready to back up your claims legally? You say Madeline and Bianca bribed the judges. Got any proof?"
Odette took a deep breath and nodded. When she opened her eyes, they were filled with determination instead of guilt.
"Don't say it. Please, don't say it," Madeline begged Odette.
Odette stared coldly at Madeline and pointed at her computer. "Madeline bribed the judge, Tony, with sex. She recorded it to make sure he wouldn't back out. The video is on her computer."
With that, Odette headed for Madeline's computer.
"You have no right to touch my computer, you bitch!" Madeline screamed, lunging at Odette and grabbing at her clothes and hair.
Odette shoved her away hard.
Odette knew Madeline couldn't save her. Her only chance was to betray Madeline and save her own skin.
Madeline, now on the floor, tried to get up, but Isabella held her down by the shoulders.
"Madeline, if Odette's lying, why won't you let her look at your computer? Something to hide?" Isabella sneered.
"No, please, Ms. Taylor, I'm sorry. I know I was wrong. Please, don't release that video. I'm begging you!" Madeline pleaded, her face pale.
Isabella leaned down and whispered in her ear, "You're not sorry for what you did; you're just sorry you got caught."
Isabella then stood up and looked at Madeline coldly.
By now, Odette had found the video on Madeline's computer.
The reporters turned their cameras to the screen, sensing a big story.
"No, don't play it, please, Odette, don't play it!" Madeline screamed, trying to get up. But two security guards quickly restrained her.
With a final click, Odette played the video.
The room filled with the sounds of a woman's moans and a man's lewd comments.
Tony Gibson: "Who would've thought, Ms. Eve? You always seem so cold, but in bed, you're quite the wild one."
Madeline: "Mr. Gibson, do you like how I am now? Can you give me first place?"
Tony: "Ms. Eve, whether you get first place depends on how you perform in this bed. Oh my, you're amazing. I love this position."
The explicit sounds and dialogue made even the adults in the room blush.
Madeline's face went pale, as if all the blood had drained from her. She sat on the floor in a daze, letting everyone watch her disgrace.
The reporters snapped away, capturing every juicy detail. Finally, Isabella stepped up and shut the laptop.
"These should be enough," Isabella said coolly to the reporters. "I hope you all keep the explicit parts out of your reports."
"Sure thing, Ms. Taylor. We'll blur out the sensitive stuff," one reporter replied with a smirk.
No one felt bad for Madeline. You don't get sympathy for hurting people.
"This is all your doing, isn't it? You planned everything! You knew, so you made Odette betray me, didn't you?" Madeline glared at Isabella, her eyes wild.
Isabella met her gaze with a calm, indifferent look. "I gave you chance after chance. You always dismissed me, saying I only got where I am because of my family. But my talent's obvious to everyone else. You're just insecure, aren't you?"
"You're lying! I'm not insecure. I have great talent; why would I be insecure? It's you who should be insecure. You sit in high positions without real skill, blocking the path for people like me. I just lack the connections. If I had a background, with my talent, I could easily be at the top!" Madeline stood up, pointing at Isabella, her voice rising to a hysterical scream.
"You damn bitch! You and you!" Madeline pointed at Isabella, Odette, and even Dwayne.
"You, as our leader, never paid attention to me. You've always favored Isabella, just because the boss told you to give her special treatment. Why is it that every time she messes up, you let it slide, but when I mess up, I get punished?" Madeline accused Dwayne furiously.
Dwayne's face was icy as he stared at Madeline. "You think I'm biased? Isabella's never screwed up unless you guys pushed her into it! She's gone to bat for you countless times, giving you chances. She was even going to quit and give you her job! But you, you let jealousy get the better of you and tried to torpedo her!"
Madeline stood frozen, staring at Isabella in shock. "You're resigning? That can't be true. It's absolutely impossible."
Isabella nodded. "Yes, I was planning to resign. I even considered recommending you for my position. But as Mr. Larson said, I've given you too many chances, and you squandered them."
"You're lying. You're trying to manipulate me! I don't want your charity! I'll get where I deserve to be, all by myself!" Madeline screamed, her eyes red with rage.
Suddenly, Madeline spotted the paper cutter on the table. In a fit of madness, she grabbed it and charged at Isabella.
