Chapter 413

Tim was sharp and perfect for undercover work. He noticed details better than Joe.

After just a few days at Paxton's company, Tim had already dug up some juicy info.

"Yeah, I've found some other stuff. There are four top dogs at the company I infiltrated. Paxton's right-hand man is pretty powerful, while the other three are just there for support. They all used to be part of the Taylor Family. I found out Paxton's guy got bought off with cash," Tim told Michael.

Tim had secretly tailed Paxton's right-hand man and discovered that he and the other three top execs were knee-deep in corruption and bribery.

"Now those four are thick as thieves. Paxton's guy won't turn on the others to save his own skin," Tim said over the phone.

A grin spread across Michael's face. He leaned back in his chair, tapping his fingers on the desk.

"These Taylor Family folks are pretty interesting. Looks like we underestimated them," Michael chuckled, realizing he needed to rethink his plan.

Isabella had told Michael about Patrick dissolving the family. Michael had always suspected that the senior members loyal to the Taylor Family wouldn't be easily swayed, and it seemed he was right.

"Mr. Williams, these Taylor Family members showing up is a wild card. What should we do? Should we reach out and see if we can work together?" Jerry asked, sensing an opportunity.

The Taylor Family members had been working at the Brown Family's company for years. They were probably more integrated and had more control over the Brown Family's power than their own people.

Michael looked thoughtful. "It seems the Taylor Family might be on our side, but Isabella is now the company's president, and they haven't reached out to her. They might have other motives. We need to figure out what they're thinking."

Jerry nodded. "You're right, Mr. Williams. If they have other motives, contacting them could put your wife in danger."

Michael narrowed his eyes. "When a flock scatters, hungry wolves pick them off one by one. To avoid chaos, there needs to be a leader. These people must have someone they're loyal to, someone organizing them."

"So, even if we reach out, they won't listen unless we find their leader?" Jerry asked.

Michael nodded.

Jerry sighed. "But we have no clue who the leader is. How do we find them?"

Michael smiled. "There's someone who might know."

"Who?" Jerry asked, curious.

Michael mentioned the name, "Carol, the head of HR at Isabella's company."

He pulled out some info on Carol from his drawer and handed it to Jerry. "You should've looked into her before. She's got a secret info channel, probably set up by Patrick from the Taylor Family."

Jerry skimmed through the file and closed it. He'd seen it before and wondered why Michael was bringing it up now.

"Get someone to reach out to Carol and find out where the leader is," Michael said casually.

Jerry got the idea but was a bit uneasy.

"Mr. Williams, Carol's not that simple. Asking her outright could tip her off. Who do you think is best for this job?" Jerry asked.

Michael hesitated. The best guy for the job was Joe because he was great with women and a good actor.

"I'd go with Joe, but you know, he's currently wanted by the authorities," Michael said, a bit helpless.

Jerry frowned and thought for a moment. "I agree, Joe's perfect for this. Maybe we can disguise him?"

After some thought, Michael decided to let Joe decide. Disguising Joe wasn't the best idea because even the best disguise could be seen through, especially by someone sharp like Carol. Plastic surgery was an option, but it took too long, and they needed to act fast.

Without wasting time, Michael called Mike and asked him to pass the phone to Joe.

Joe was puzzled when he got Michael's call.

"What's up, Mr. Williams? Need something?" Joe asked curiously.

Michael smiled and said, "I have a task for you. You need to make contact with a woman."

Joe's eyes lit up. "How old is she? Is she hot? What's her bust size?"

Michael smirked. He had Carol's info, but not those details.

He looked at Jerry.

Jerry hesitated and said, "Joe, you know Black Widow from the Avengers?"

"Oh my god, are you saying I get to meet a babe who looks like Black Widow?" Joe's tone was full of excitement.

Jerry nodded. "Something like that, she's pretty stunning."

Joe jumped up from the couch. "Don't worry, Mr. Williams. I'll take this seriously and won't let you down."

Jerry shrugged at Michael, who found it a bit amusing.

"Joe, you know your situation. John and Paxton are after you. If you show up, you could be in danger," Michael warned.

Joe waved it off. "Don't worry, Mr. Williams. I'm not stupid. I like beautiful women, but I'm careful. Send me her info, and I'll figure out a way to approach her."

Michael nodded, trusting Joe's caution.
