Chapter 365

Isabella had no clue that Bianca was gunning for her again. After their trip to the ski resort, they headed straight back to the hotel. Skiing was a blast, but it was tiring.

The ski gear was warm but not exactly breathable, so they ended up sweating a lot. Michael went to take a shower, while Isabella and Amelia decided to hit the hot springs.

On their way, they bumped into Elise again. Elise, who almost got the wrong idea about Isabella because of some guy, was still hanging around the hotel, sitting in the lobby with a bottle of wine.

Isabella found a staff member and asked, "Why is she still here? Wasn't she here to catch a cheater? Is her husband still around?"

The staff member shook their head. "Her husband checked out on the first day. She booked a room here too. Said she wanted to relax and travel."

"But she doesn't look like she's having a good time," Amelia chimed in.

"Hopefully, she can move on soon. Let's hit the hot springs," Isabella said, deciding not to worry about Elise anymore.

Isabella and Amelia soaked in the hot spring pool, enjoying a relaxing bath. When they were done, Benjamin called Amelia, saying he had a surprise for her.

"I don't want any surprises right now, I just want to crash in bed," Amelia said, rolling her eyes and hanging up.

Isabella laughed and shook her head, "Come on, stop showing off. You're grinning like a Cheshire cat. Go see what surprise he's got for you."

With a big smile, Amelia quickly left.

Isabella changed into dry clothes and headed back to her room.

As she got into the elevator, a hand stopped the doors from closing.

The doors opened, and in stumbled Elise, reeking of alcohol.

Isabella wrinkled her nose at the smell. Elise noticed and gave a goofy smile. "Sorry, miss. Can you help me to my room? Here's my key."

Elise was speaking a foreign language, but she had a translation device on her ear and chest, translating her words perfectly.

After fumbling around, Elise found her room key and handed it to Isabella.

Isabella looked at the key, confused, and the next moment, Elise collapsed on her, clearly having drunk too much.

"Don't pass out now, you're pretty heavy," Isabella muttered, but Elise didn't budge.

Isabella glanced at the room number on the key card, and when the elevator arrived, she helped Elise to her room.

Isabella opened the door and guided Elise inside. "You're in your room now, get some rest."

Isabella helped Elise onto the bed. As Elise lay down, she groaned and then opened her eyes.

"Thanks. I didn't expect you to help me after I misunderstood you last time," Elise said with a chuckle.

Isabella rolled her eyes and rubbed her sore arms. "It's nothing. If there's nothing else, I'll be on my way."

Just as Isabella was about to leave, Elise called out.

"Wait, can you stay and chat with me?" Elise's voice had a hint of pleading.

After a moment of hesitation, Isabella nodded.

Isabella could probably guess what Elise wanted to talk about-it had to be about her and her husband.

Actually, Isabella felt pretty bad for Elise, and since she had some free time, she figured she could sit and listen for a bit.

As Elise lay on the bed, staring blankly at the ceiling, she started talking about her and her husband's love story and all the beautiful plans she had for their future.

"But it was all a lie. He deceived me. He's a jerk! That jerk got married abroad without telling me! Damn it, from now on, I'm only marrying someone local, never someone from abroad!" Elise finished, tears streaming down her face.

Isabella furrowed her brows, thinking about some mysterious info she had heard. Someone had told her that Michael got married abroad, but she had dismissed it.

Elise sat up and looked at Isabella. "Your husband loves you. I hope you never go through what I did. God bless you."

Elise burst into tears again.

Isabella handed Elise a tissue, exchanged a few casual words with her, and then left the room.

Once Isabella was gone, Elise's sorrow vanished.

Elise took off the translation device, tossed it on the bed, and made a call.

"I've done as planned. I should have planted the seed of doubt in her heart," Elise smirked, speaking fluent Avalonian.

A voice came from the other end of the phone, "You did well. I'll transfer the money to you next. Are you heading back to your country?"

Elise shook her head. "There are still many fun places here. I want to keep traveling."

"Have a pleasant journey." Scarlett hung up the phone and transferred the agreed payment.

After finishing everything, Scarlett stretched lazily and chuckled softly, "Isabella, I'm curious to see how you'll compete with me this time."

Just as Scarlett finished speaking, her phone rang again, showing an unfamiliar number.

Scarlett answered the call, and the voice on the other end left her stunned.

"Is that you? How did you get my number?" Scarlett asked, furrowing her brow.

A deep male voice replied, "It's not difficult for me. I heard my brother rejected you. Do I have a chance?"
