Chapter 299

The restaurant manager felt a wave of dread wash over him when he heard Zoey's demanding tone.

Estella frowned at Zoey, "Zoey, there's no need for this. We can eat anywhere. Kicking out customers will hurt your family's business."

Estella's advice wasn't out of concern for Zoey or the Brown Family's business. Michael had warned her not to damage his reputation as his nominal wife, and she didn't want to upset him over something so trivial.

But Zoey's anger was boiling over. Even though she knew Isabella wasn't directly to blame for Pearl's suffering, Pearl was in this mess because she once kidnapped Isabella, so Zoey held Isabella indirectly responsible.

"Didn't you hear me? Get Isabella and her friends out of here now!" Zoey yelled at the manager.

Zoey's angry voice cut through the air, catching the attention of many.

Isabella noticed Zoey and the somewhat familiar Estella next to her.

"That middle-aged woman looks like Paxton's wife, Zoey. The woman next to her seems familiar," Isabella thought, frowning.

Dwayne recognized Estella immediately. She was Michael's wife, as he'd seen in the news.

Dwayne quickly got up and approached Estella, smiling, "Excuse me, are you Ms. Foster? I'm Dwayne, your husband is my boss."

Estella was shocked. She had been worried someone might recognize her because of Zoey, and now her fears were coming true.

'Damn, how did I run into Michael's subordinate here? This will definitely get back to Michael. Damn it! Why is Zoey ruining my reputation?' Estella glared at Zoey with resentment.

"Mr. Larson, hello. My husband often speaks highly of you," Estella greeted Dwayne politely.

Suddenly, Estella had a thought. If Dwayne was here, could the others be Michael's employees too?

"Mr. Larson, are you all here for a company event?" Estella asked curiously.

Dwayne nodded, then shook his head. "It is a company gathering, but not for business. Today is a farewell party for Ms. Taylor, who's leaving."

Dwayne glanced at Estella and then at Zoey beside her. He politely asked, "Mrs. Williams, would you like to join us? The food here is really good."

Meanwhile, as Isabella listened to Dwayne and Estella, it clicked in her mind who Estella was. She recalled seeing in the news that Estella and John's uncle, the mysterious guy, were an item.

Isabella walked over with a smile, "Mrs. Williams, you're more than welcome to join us. It'd be an honor to have you."

Estella waved off the invitation gracefully, "No need, you're too kind. I just happened to be here. I'll say hello to everyone but won't join your gathering. It might be awkward otherwise."

Estella wasn't a fool; she had sharp instincts. She knew Michael only kept her around to shut the elders up. So, she kept a low profile and avoided mentioning Michael in front of others. That's why she rarely talked about her personal life.

Isabella found Estella's behavior odd. To her, Estella seemed overly reserved and lacked the poise you'd expect from a socialite.

"Since you don't want to eat here, Mrs. Williams, can we give you a ride?" Dwayne asked politely.

Estella smiled and waved her hand, politely refusing. "No need. You all stay and enjoy your meal. Mrs. Brown and I will find somewhere else for dinner."

Estella was about to pull Zoey away, but Zoey shook off her hand.

Zoey angrily shouted at Isabella, "I remember you, you're Isabella, that bitch Bianca's sister! You and your sister hurt my daughter! What do you have to say for yourselves?"

Estella's face fell, and Dwayne's brow furrowed in concern. Isabella also looked coldly at Zoey.

"Mrs. Brown, I've already told the police everything I know. I'm sorry about what happened to your daughter, but as I've said before, I was a victim of your daughter's kidnapping. As for who took her, it has nothing to do with me," Isabella retorted icily, staring back at Zoey with resentment.

"All you women from the Taylor Family are vicious and despicable," Zoey spat, her eyes blazing with hatred, her body trembling with barely contained fury.

Although Estella cursed Zoey in her heart, she was also curious about Zoey's current expression. She wondered why Zoey acted like that.

Estella glanced at Isabella with an inquisitive eye. To her, Isabella was just a beautiful woman, nothing more. Similarly, Estella didn't know much about Isabella and the Brown Family's conflicts. Naturally, Zoey wouldn't discuss these sordid family matters with Estella.

Zoey turned her ire towards the manager, pointing at his nose. "You fool, are you deaf? I told you to get these people out. Why haven't you done anything? Do I have to do it myself?"

The manager's blood boiled as those harsh words hit him. He was here to do his job, not to be yelled at. He had worked his way up from the bottom to become a manager, thinking he had a promising future. Now, it was all being ruined by Zoey, this foolish woman.

Finally, after struggling internally, the manager addressed Zoey, "I'm sorry, Mrs. Brown, I need to make a call to Mr. Brown."
