Chapter 392
Even though John was talking all chill, Bianca wasn't dumb.
Sure, Bianca might not be a business whiz, but she gets that blowing a hundred million bucks for some quick buzz isn't exactly a money-making move.
"Sweetie, I feel way better after you talked to me. I shouldn't have been mad. It's not good for our baby," Bianca said, gently touching her belly and looking a bit guilty.
John ruffled her hair with a smile. "So, no more getting mad, okay? We should go for that health check-up."
Bianca suddenly remembered her monthly check-up. John was there to take her for the baby's sake.
"Let's go, honey. Our baby is gonna be just fine. I can even feel him kicking," Bianca said with a smile, leaving the office with John.
After they left, the janitor came in to clean up. Her eyes sparkled at the scattered magazines, but with the cameras watching, she didn't do anything extra. She cleaned up and left.
Not long after, Isabella and Carol got the news.
"Our plan worked perfectly. Bianca knows we tricked her. I heard she's super mad and John took her for a check-up," Carol said casually.
Isabella gave Carol a curious look. "I sometimes wonder where you get all this info. Do you have a secret network of spies or something?"
Isabella had always been curious about how Carol got dirt on shareholders and celebs, and more importantly, how she managed to plant spies in Bianca's company without getting caught.
Carol leaned against the desk with a faint smile. "Actually, these are resources left by your grandpa. I have access to some info, and those informants are hidden all over the city with their own jobs and lives. They pass me info without disrupting their lives. It's that simple."
Isabella was shocked that Carol revealed all this.
"Can I control this info network?" Isabella asked excitedly, realizing how important it was.
Carol shook her head. "Not yet. You haven't met my requirements."
"Your requirements? What are they?" Isabella asked, curious.
Carol smiled. "It's like a game. If you haven't completed the previous level, you can't unlock the next one. When you expand these three companies, I'll hand over the info network to you. It's what your grandpa wanted, like a reward for you."
Isabella immediately understood it was a test of her leadership. If she couldn't lead the company, there was no point in leading an info network.
"I won't let you, my grandpa, or our loyal family members down," Isabella said firmly.
Meanwhile, Bianca and John finished the check-up at the hospital.
Bianca held the test report, and everything was normal with the baby. John had to deal with company stuff, so he left and had the bodyguard take Bianca back.
As Bianca sat in the car heading back to the company, she passed by the street where Isabella's company was located.
After some thought, Bianca suddenly instructed the driver to head to Isabella's company.
"Ms. Taylor, Mr. Williams instructed us to take you back to the company or the vineyard," the bodyguard said somewhat hesitantly.
Bianca rolled her eyes. "Mr. Williams listens to me too. I just want to chat with my sister and catch up. If she doesn't want to see me, I'll leave. No need to worry about us arguing."
The bodyguard felt a bit bitter in his heart. They had been with Bianca for a long time, and she had never been easy to deal with. She must be going to cause trouble for Isabella.
The two bodyguards exchanged glances and decided that if there was a conflict, they must protect Bianca to prevent harm to the fetus and John from losing control.
Just as Bianca's car arrived at Isabella's building, the sharp-eyed security guard immediately informed Carol of Bianca's presence.
When Carol received the message, she informed Isabella as well.
Isabella looked at the message from the security guard, then at Carol helplessly. "Are the security guards also part of the information network?"
Carol smiled and shook her head. "They are just regular security guards, but I instructed them to enter a state of high alert once they spotted Bianca and report back to me. Of course, if you want the security guards to report directly to you, you can, since you seem to have a lot of free time."
"Who says I have free time? I'm so busy every day that my feet barely touch the ground." Isabella rolled her eyes, feeling that Carol was biased against her.
"Your feet don't touch the ground because you wear high heels," Carol retorted.
At that moment, Juliet knocked on the office door and entered.
"Ms. Taylor, something's not right. Bianca is here, but the security guard stopped her. They said many walls in the company were painted, which is not good for pregnant women and fetuses, so they temporarily kept her outside." Juliet said.
Isabella looked at Carol. "Did you arrange this too?"
Carol shook her head. "I just had the security guard stop her. The idea of painting the walls was theirs."
Isabella nodded. "Give that clever security guard a bonus of $1000."
Isabella finished speaking and went downstairs. By now, many people were outside because Bianca was shouting after being stopped by the security guard.
"Do you know who I am? I'm the CEO's sister. Can't I even see her?" Bianca yelled in anger.
The security guard remained stern and shook his head. "I'm truly sorry, Ms. Taylor. The paint inside is really not good for the fetus. We're just looking out for your health."
"Don't give me that nonsense. I just saw a pregnant woman walk in. Did Isabella tell you to say this?" Bianca shouted angrily.
"It was indeed me who told them to say that." Isabella's voice came from behind the security guard, with Juliet filming with her phone.
