Chapter 241

Jonah watched the video of Bianca and Daron arguing, and it didn't take him long to figure out Daron was hired by Bianca. But then, the video got all pixelated around Bianca, making Jonah raise an eyebrow.

"Why'd you pixelate the video?" Jonah asked, frowning at the detective.

The detective grinned, "Bianca's John's girl! If you wanna see her goodies, it's gonna cost you extra! Trust me, they're worth it. Just another hundred grand, and you can get a closer look."

Jonah shot the detective a cold look and stayed quiet. He wasn't that interested in Bianca's assets anyway.

"Thanks for the video. Hopefully, we can work together again," Jonah said shortly, standing up and nodding at the detective before leaving.

Anyone who could secretly record near John was worth keeping an eye on. Maybe they could work together in the future.

"Just a hundred grand, and you can see it. You sure you don't want it?" The detective called after Jonah, but Jonah didn't stop.

"What a waste. Such an amazing booty, so big, so tempting, and not appreciated. Is he losing his touch?" The detective shrugged and walked away.

On his way back, the detective felt something was off. He turned around and saw a few ordinary-looking people following him.

He smirked and kept walking, muttering under his breath.

"Mr. Williams, the video's been delivered. If all goes well, the Brown Family should start suspecting Bianca. But it looks like they're onto me, too. They're tracking me." The detective had a tiny earpiece in his ear.

Michael's voice came through the earpiece, "Lose them and come back. Your mission's done for now."

The detective acknowledged and ducked into a nearby coffee shop.

The two people following him went into the coffee shop too and saw him head into the restroom. They waited outside for almost half an hour, but he didn't come out. Curious, they rushed in, checked all the stalls, and found he was gone.

"Damn, we lost him," one of them said.

"Let's tell Jonah," the other replied, pulling out his phone.

Meanwhile, Jonah handed the video to Paxton.

After watching it, Paxton started trembling.

"If I'm not mistaken, my daughter mentioned partnering with someone before. Could that be Bianca?" Paxton asked, his voice shaky.

Jonah stayed silent, not knowing this info.

"Mr. Brown, I don't get why Bianca would do this. Isn't she afraid of our family coming back at her? Or does she think John can protect her?" Jonah furrowed his brow, sensing a deeper plot.

Paxton smirked, a cold glint in his eye. "Bianca's more dangerous than she appears. She and my daughter planned to kidnap Isabella, but Isabella got away. That ruthless woman crippled my daughter to provoke our entire family! Whether John will protect her is anyone's guess-she might have other plans, or she might actually believe he can keep her safe."

Paxton exuded a chilling aura. But then Jonah realized something serious.

"But Mr. Brown, if Bianca's so ruthless, why didn't she just kill Isabella? There were no bodyguards around her before, so it shouldn't have been hard to take her out." Jonah's words made Paxton notice an overlooked aspect.

"Maybe Isabella has some unknown forces backing her, or maybe Bianca did try to kill her but failed for some reason. Both women from the Taylor Family are not to be underestimated." Paxton mused, his eyes narrowing.

Just then, Pearl's doctor walked up.

"Mr. Brown, we're ready to proceed with Ms. Brown's surgery anytime," the doctor said earnestly, looking at Paxton.

Jonah's eyes lit up. If the surgery was successful, Pearl could hear again, which would be a huge benefit for her future.

Paxton took a deep breath, closed his eyes, and when he reopened them, his gaze was steely with fierce determination.

"Start the surgery. When my daughter can hear again, I want to know if Bianca is behind this!" Paxton's eyes gleamed with a chilling resolve.

Meanwhile, after settling Bianca, John headed straight to the hospital where Mason was.

Inside Mason's hospital room, Michael was already sitting by the bed.

John pushed the door open and walked in, his gaze sweeping over Michael and Mason.

"Michael, Grandfather," John began, his voice tight with controlled anger, "Did your people, disguised as my staff, try to kidnap Jasper?"

Michael nodded, his expression calm. "Yeah, I had my people pose as yours to get Jasper to the hospital. Mason wanted to teach him a lesson."

John clenched his fists. "So, was it also your people who shot my subordinates?"

Mason furrowed his brow and looked at Michael, whose expression remained indifferent.

"If I told you I didn't order the hit, would you buy that?" Michael looked at John, his gaze incredibly calm.

John stared into Michael's eyes, feeling an invisible pressure weighing on him.

"Enough, John. I trust Michael wouldn't hurt family. Something's gotta be wrong here." Mason waved his hand, gesturing for John to sit aside.

Michael calmly nodded. "I think the same way. Our conflicts are internal family matters, and there's no need for me to resort to firearms against our own. As for those shooters, I'm not sure where they came from. Initially, my people thought it was your side shooting, so to prevent further casualties, I ordered them to retreat."

John's expression deepened as he continued to scrutinize Michael. In the end, his inner doubts wavered, and he found it hard to believe Michael would do such a thing.

"But if it wasn't your people, then who could it be? Those guys showed up wanting to take out Jasper and Mia. Could it be Isabella's people?" John mused aloud.
