Chapter 226

Jasper sat in his cell, counting down the days. Soon, he'd be out of this detention center and living it up abroad as a wealthy man.

As for reviving the family legacy? Forget it. That family was a lost cause. If Bianca and John wanted to try, they could. It would be their funeral.

Jasper hummed a cheerful tune, his face a picture of smug satisfaction.

His cellmates, however, looked at him with nothing but disdain.

'Selling out your own daughter, what a scumbag,' they thought, but none dared voice it aloud.

Despite his family's decline, Jasper still had the clout of the wealthy elite, a class beyond the reach of these common prisoners.

To make a deal with Jasper, John had specifically instructed the guards in the detention center to protect him.

Therefore, despite the strong disdain for Jasper, his cellmates did not dare to lay a hand on him.

Meanwhile, Michael returned home from the hospital to find Isabella had dinner ready. The aroma of the food drew him straight to the bathroom to wash up before he joined her at the table.

As Isabella set the last dish down, she casually asked, "Did you sort out the company issue?"

Michael nodded. "Nothing major, just a missing document. These young folks, so careless. It was right on the desk, but he turned the office upside down looking for it."

He chuckled, mocking the young employee's carelessness.

Isabella smiled, not pressing for details.

"Hey, you're not exactly ancient yourself," she teased.

"Honey, I'm 30. That's practically middle-aged," Michael said, throwing his hands up in mock despair.

Isabella propped her chin on her hands, nodding seriously. "True. Even though I'm younger than you, I'm nearing 30. Once a woman hits that age, aging speeds up. I need to find ways to keep my beauty intact!"

"Science says women age faster without sex," Michael said with a sly grin.

Isabella blushed and glared at him. "Oh really? Does your brilliant science cover how long sex affects a woman's beauty?"

Michael's grin faltered, and he gave her a wounded look. "I haven't been slacking in that department."

Isabella raised an eyebrow. "You're on maintenance meds now; who knows what you'll need later."

Michael gripped his utensils in mock anger. "Just wait. Once I'm off these meds, I'll prove myself to you!"

Isabella licked her lips, giving him a sultry smile. "Looking forward to that."

Michael almost lost control, the urge to scoop her up and carry her to bed was almost too much.

But Isabella suddenly turned serious. "Alright, enough joking. We need to discuss something important. My father's getting out of detention soon. What's the plan?"

Michael's desire faded as he focused on the issue at hand. He had been thinking about this on his way home.

"Jasper has likely struck a deal with John. He's just holding off on signing the agreement because he's worried you might have evidence of his embezzlement. Once he's out, he'll sign the transfer agreement with John and be on a plane out of the country by the afternoon. So, we should target John instead," Michael said, narrowing his eyes.

Isabella looked at Michael with anticipation. "What do you have in mind?"

Michael started to speak but then paused, a mischievous grin spreading across his face. He pointed to his cheek and said, "Kiss me and say, 'Honey, you're amazing,' and I'll tell you my plan."

Isabella's hopeful look turned into a scowl.

"This is not the time for jokes," she snapped, slapping the table.

Michael leaned back, arms crossed, staring at her. "I am not joking. If you want the plan, you gotta pay up."

Rolling her eyes, Isabella stood, walked over to him, and cupped his face. She gave him a hard kiss on the lips.

"Honey, you're amazing. Now spill," she said through gritted teeth.

Michael winced as she squeezed his face. "Alright, alright. Can you let go? My face is hurting!"

Isabella snorted and released him, returning to her seat.

Rubbing his face, Michael said, "We can have someone pose as John's associate to pick Jasper up. They'll have him sign the prepared transfer agreement. After that, we'll show up and sign our names. How's that?"

Isabella listened intently but rolled her eyes at the end. "That's contract fraud. Even if we sign, my father won't honor it."

Michael shrugged. "The first part is solid. Once we have Jasper, we can take him to Mason. He'll get your father to hand over his shares."

Isabella blinked, considering his suggestion. "I'd rather not involve Mason. This is my family matter."

Michael sighed, standing and gently stroking her hair. "Honey, ever since John went against his grandpa, this isn't just about you and Bianca anymore. It started dragging the whole Williams family into it."
