Chapter 325

The three families went dead quiet.

After Tanner's crew showed up, they combed through the warehouse too, but came up empty-handed.

This just made them buy into Jay's story even more. Peter might've just wanted to lure them here and then take them out.

Hadley voiced her doubts, "If things are really like you think, why hasn't anyone come after us yet? We're still safe, for now at least."

Tanner scratched his head. "Maybe we drove too fast for them to set up an ambush?"

Hadley rolled her eyes. "Seriously?"

Tanner pointed at Hadley, fuming. "I can't stand it when people roll their eyes at me. Do it again, and I'll gouge your eyeballs out, you ugly woman."

"I'd love to rip out your tongue, asshole," Hadley shot back, hating being called ugly.

"Enough! Is this really the time to argue? Maybe Tanner's right. Peter didn't want to kill us; he wanted to lure us away so he could go after Jasper. He might really know where Jasper is," Jay analyzed.

But then Hadley raised another point. "But it still doesn't add up. If Peter wanted to lure us away, why not just tell all three of us directly? Why talk to us one by one? Isn't that a waste of time?"

"Why do you have so many questions? The main thing now is where Peter is. We need to find Jasper before he does," Tanner snapped at Hadley.

Hadley fired a shot beside Tanner's feet, sending debris flying.

"You crazy woman!" Tanner yelled, raising his gun and aiming at Hadley.

"Enough, stop it! Now's not the time," Jay said, stepping between them and pushing their gun barrels down.

"I think I've figured out Peter's plan. He wants to create rifts to break our alliance," Jay guessed, but unfortunately, this wasn't Peter's goal-it was Tim's.

Hadley sneered, "Is that even necessary? We all want Jasper's hidden family treasure for ourselves. Once we find him, we're definitely going to end up fighting each other for it."

"I'll gouge your eyeballs out and stuff them up your ass!" Tanner snarled.

"Enough, you idiots!" Jay roared. "We represent our families! The family heads ordered us to cooperate. Do you dare disobey?"

Hadley and Tanner went silent after hearing Jay's words. Even though each of the three families had their own agendas, they still needed to keep up appearances.

"So, what do we do next?" Hadley asked quietly.

Tanner was also waiting for Jay's instructions.

"Next, we head back and have someone track down Peter. He might've already found Jasper," Jay said seriously.

Hadley and Tanner nodded in agreement.

Jasper, hiding in the secret room, felt a wave of relief as the voices outside died down.

"Looks like they didn't find these secret rooms. Must've been a routine check by the gang members. Dodged a bullet there," Jasper muttered, wiping the cold sweat from his forehead.

But then, Jasper heard gunshots outside, followed by the roar of car engines.

"What's going on out there? Should've installed a surveillance camera," Jasper grumbled.

He had thought about setting up surveillance but figured it would draw too much attention to the rundown plant. Plus, he didn't have the cash for it.

Before selling those gold cars, Jasper was pretty much broke, only having a bit left from selling his gold teeth.

The place where Jasper had been staying wasn't as safe as the rich neighborhoods, but it wasn't a total warzone either, and it was pricey.

As Jasper cursed his luck, so did the people outside the factory.

"Damn it, did you guys plant moles around me? Why are you all here?" Peter yelled at the three in front of him.

Peter had gotten Jasper's whereabouts from a scavenger and was thrilled to bring his crew over, only to find folks from the other three families there too.

When Jay saw Peter, they were just as shocked.

Peter showing up here blew all their previous theories out of the water.

"Wait, were you also tricked by the scavenger to come here?" Hadley asked, stunned.

Peter frowned. "What do you mean? You got tricked too?"

Jay nodded. "Looks like someone is targeting all four of our families. But what's this guy's endgame?"

Peter smirked at Jay, "I don't care about their purpose. I just know Jasper's definitely hiding here."

With that, Peter waved his hand, and his men rushed towards the warehouse.

Peter had brought a lot of guys, mostly gang members. Jay and the others felt outnumbered, as they only had a few family hitmen, not as many as Peter's gang.

However, Hadley and the others weren't eager to confront Peter; they had already searched the warehouse and found nothing.

But Peter wasn't buying it. He pulled out his gun, fired a shot into the sky, and then pointed it at Jay and the others.

"Speak up, did you hide Jasper?" Peter asked coldly.

Hadley sneered, "If we found Jasper, why would we still be here?"

Peter shot back, "Because I got here too fast, you didn't have time to leave!"

Hadley laughed and looked at Tanner, "This jerk is even more annoying than you."
